Unfortunately we're not going out until the 24th so we've got a while to wait (22 days, 15 hours, 59 minutes, 11 seconds), not that I'm bothered....... :)

At last! I was feeling like the only one who knew about Travel Fx and I keep banging on about them having the highest rate every day. In fact I'm sure you were the one to bring them to my attention. I've watched then for about a week and a half now and they have consistently been just a tad higher than the nearest competitor. I changed up with them last week, it was with me the next day, almost. I wasn't in to sign for the delivery so our lira are sitting in the local sorting office, must make the effort to get down there tomoz and collect it..... lol!
Thanks Rakigirl for the heads up, I hope you did well out of it as well :-))

I did it when it was 2.27 last week too, lol! :D

Can I be nosey and ask how many of your are going because that's much more than we're taking. There's myself and my son (hubby will have his own money) and we're self-catering for 12 nights. I've changed £600 and was planning on having £200 extra to change up if we need it.

I'm starting to think this won't be enough :?

Thanks

Just bought mine from TravelFX. First time I have used them, hope they're quick as we're going Monday!

Only got 2.687 but still better than the high street.

I didn't place the order until 5ish this evening so hopefully they'll receive the payment and ship it out tomorrow then. Can't wait to get there, as we weren't expecting to go anywhere and booked last minute it's all happened very quickly.

Only hiccup is daughters passport runs out early December, so I have to drive her to Peterborough Passport Office tomorrow to get a same day renewal. Our nearest office is London and they have no appointment slots until 12th Aug!

So that's £109 I hadn't counted on having to pay, plus fuel, parking etc and a whole day just to get the passport renewed Grrrr!

I'd be almost certain you'll have them by Thursday then.

You've just made me check my sons passport expiry date! It's something I've been meaning to do but keep forgetting :?

Thankfully he's got just over a year....phew! :)

You've got some running around but I'm sure it'll all be worth it. :-)

Where are you flying from if you're near London? We're going out of Stansted on the 24th....can't wait I'm so excited :D

Gatwick. We're in Hampshire so Stansted is the wrong side for us. Flew from there in Feb to attend a conference in Barcelona and, thanks to an over zealous security eejut, I've sworn I'll never fly from Stansted ever again.

They deemed my clear bag a few cm's too big (a bag that was given to me the last time I flew via Heathrow), and gave me the option of confiscating all my toiletries or escorting me landside where I could buy the correct bag and then join the end of a very long queue to re-enter security.

I didn't have time to do that and so had no choice but to forfeit all my toiletries. Sounds minor but with aftershave, the Gillette power razor etc there was £30's worth.

Crap like that has bugger all to do with security and everything to do with being a jumped up jobsworth. I know Stansted is BAA but even so, I shan't be flying from there again…..ever

Darren I agree, that is total pants! It's not only the expense of replacing things but the inconvenience, especially if you can't replace with like for like :-(

I looked up what size placcie bag was correct for Stansted last week, 20 x 20. The ones I've got are just a bit bigger. I was going to just use what I've got as I couldn't see what difference a few cm's would make, now I know size really does matter ( ) I'll make sure to buy some smaller bags.

We use Stansted whenever we can as we live around 10 miles away although years back when we had to fly THY to Kizkalesi via Istanbul it was always Heathrow, nightmare journey all the time. I see now that you can get to K'lesi from Stansted which is good news for us if we think of going there again
