(JT is Evil.) I think thats a little strong. You are all forgetting some simple principals of weather. Icmeler is surrounded by mountains the tops of which can be very cold. You've all seen the snowy mountain tops from the airplane before you land. There has been quite a lot of wind lately that will easily cause up-draughts and conversley down-draughts as it pushes against the faces of the mountains. This of course coupled with the natural action of convection eg. hot air rises and cold air decends will cause seemingly impossible weather events. Ergo the ice and snow lieing on pine trees.

I hope iv'e kept it simple enough.

Just to be safe, maybe those going in the next few days should take their scarves and gloves, wouldn't want frost bite as you pick that ice cold efes up

Plum, i'm afraid you are nearer the truth than you think. They actually use the snorkel to vigorously shake the tree trunks so that the snow and ice fall down. This is to relieve the weight from the top of the tree and stop it falling over and damaging property.
