Restaurants in Icmeler

Postby Blackpool Chick » 29 Jul 2011 22:43

Hi, returning to Icmeler in 2 weeks. A request to those of you who have recently returned, any recommendations on the best restaurants this season for quality of food and/or value for money?
Last season we loved Venice but heard mixed reviews this year?
Also, apparently some restaurants offer deals whereby you dine in the evening and thay give you lunch the next day?Any advice and recommendations gratefully appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Blackpool Chick!

Well, in my own opinion, I would say overall best restaurant for food is either Romance, or Tommy's in the Old Village. However, Romance has a bit of a repuation so I've heard, but putting all the gossip aside - deffinately one of the best food wise. Tommy's as I say is spectacular! Great staff, peaceful night with no hassle, and amazing food!
I think Cubana (near Ekinci Palace) has a deal where if you dine one night you will get either breakfast or lunch free, but that was earlier on in the season, so I could be mistaken thinking they still do it.. But they do make a mean steak!

Good luck with finding somewhere, and have a brilliant holiday!

My favourites this year were in order of preference are

1 - Ugra, opposite Tansas and next door to Red Lion - Lovely home made food, Turkish and British dishes, very reasonable prices, and you also get free starters, free salad bowls and fresh fruit afterwards.

2 - Vinces - Even though its the same Chef, the meals were even better this year.

3 - Tandoori Sizzler - First time we tried here due to the cheap drinks, and we weren't disappointed.

Heys,

Buffalo Bar does cheap drinks and half price meals between 19:00hrs-20:00hrs and the food is very nice indeed.

Deja-Vu is a nice place, the do a set meal which is 3 mezes, any soup for starter then any chicken, pasta or pizza and after everythinh tea or coffee and this is for 18TL (i may be a couple of pouds out)

Have a good holiday, I wish I was going back this year

Rebecca :)

just back and as usual had some lovely meals in as many restaurants as we could visit. Would recommend Chef, Lighthouse and Venice for quality.

Cupids, Tommy's, Romance and Ozzies - though last October, Ozzie was there one day but had left 2 days later.

For a lunch snack we like ???? umm well, maybe JT could figure out the name? Its a wee Turkish cafe on a corner spot, opposite the school with a coffee place next to it? Has awards for the best meatballs?
I've never seen it mentioned on here at all - wish I could remember the name so I could give it a good recommendation to try it.

I doubt if you would be disappointed Reesey.
Never saw any tourists in there whenever we visited, its not a fancy schmancy place. Lots of Turkish folks eat there and we did see a lot of repeat customers.
Clean, comfy with great food and friendly folks.

Temel Kofte is a little gem of a place that not a lot of people have been to. It is a basic but clean place and the food is wonderful, also they do a set menu which is great value and yes their meatballs are wonderful :D :D
Four weeks time we will be there eating them :D :D :D
