Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect yours, but after 15 times I dont find Icmeler at all boring. There are lots of places that don't have dancing waiters, some have other entertainment, and others where you can sit and have a quiet drink and a chat. As for the food, I eat something different every night, and find there are a lot more choices on their menu's than a lot of places in the UK. Also if you want something that is not on the menu, they will do their best to get it for you. To most of the people on here, it has a special magic, that draws us back time after time.

Next month we'll be returning to Icmeler after a gap of 11 years. I am not going for dancing waiters, or any kind of entertainment for that matter.

We are just looking forward to a lovely break in a resort where I know we will be safe, make friends, eat very well in the authentic Turkish restaurants and enjoy the sun.

I agree it is a big world out there and as this was your 2nd visit and you still didn't 'get' Icmeler I wish you well on your travels to other parts of the world.

Maybe one day you might think of returning and giving it another go like us. :)

Well I have to agree with Polly after visiting Icmeler twice a year, June & September, for some 15/16 years. We don't go for the dancing waiters etc but surely you can broaden your horizons with the different culture, food and the people you meet. We have been lucky enough to spend several holidays all over the world but Icmeler is what I call my beach holiday and we go to relax, enjoy some sunshine, have great food and meet lovely people. We have seen the changes over the years but we still return and LOVE IT!! :D :D :D

Even though you wont be returning, I hope you enjoyed your time in Icmeler.

It is a big wide world out there and I am sure you can find somewhere that you will have a passion to keep returning to, just like we return to Icmeler. Would be a sad old world if we all liked the same things eh!

Happy travelling :D

Did you like it the first time?

Hardly spreading wealth £300/£400 in Spain/Portugal willl that change the euro? dont think so.
We as a family go camping in the Lothian , Perthsire region twice a year spending £££s.....TBH I wont even explain my family spending to a **** stirring person like you.

Explain to us all again WHY you went back to Icmeler the second time if you found it so boring..

At least as a family we give constructive opinions on a place without joining a forum dedicated to the area and knocking people who do enjoy the area.

As a family we have been to England, Spain Portugal, Greece , Turkey , Ireland , Wales , Tunis, Malta and even the shetland Isles... not bad for a young family like mine. But I would never think of calling a place I had been to twice as boring. think of all the money you wasted.

Its not our fault it took you 2 visits to realise you didnt like Icmeler.
Please dont knock others that do enjoy the area.

Well said, polly - Icmeler has far more to offer than dancing waiters and the same old food night after night. If that's all the OP found, then I feel sorry for her - because she missed out on so many wonderful experiences. Still, all the more of Icmeler for the rest of us to enjoy, eh? :D

I've not noticed anyone being sarcastic to you even though you took time out of your day to criticize Icmeler on a forum full of people that so obviously love the place/people/experience (dancing waiters or not!) so I find it a bit difficult to understand your 'holier than thou' tone.

What made you go back for this 2nd visit if it's so boring there??!

Just because you don't like it there's no need to try to make other people feel inferior for enjoying what you don't. It doesn't make you right or us wrong!

As I said before, enjoy your travels in the 'big world', there's plenty of people returning to Icmeler and discovering for the 1st time what a wonderful place it is so I'm sure they won't miss your custom.

Happy holidays!!

Does it matter who it was aimed at ?

At the moment I am leaving this alone as I find it interesting and given enough rope..........

i can understand you finding icmeler boring if all you wanted to do was look at dancing waiters and menus all of your holiday,we on the other hand make our time enjoyable, there so many different things to do if you only take the time.after having visited quite a few different places on holiday over the years we came to icmeler 2 years ago & found it to be the most enjoyable of the places we have been, we are back for our 4th time in sept.what i am saying is that the place is not boring but might it just not be the person that is! i just wonder, if it was as boring the 1st visit as it was the 2nd , why come back? or have you just realised it might just be that you dont know how to make the best of your holiday
just a thought.

you are the weakest link. goodbye! :D

We went to Marmaris for the first time,3 years ago and decided it was not for us,that doesn't mean that nobody should enjoy it,just that we didn't and wouldn't go back unless on our way to somewhere else, such as a boat trip.I would not ridicule people who enjoy it there though, each to their own is my motto,Redroz will not be missed, there will just be room for one more who may or may not enjoy their stay. The more people who want to holiday in Icmeler the more expensive it may become,so lets be thankful that some people do not return.

I think most people would agree that it is each to their own - personally, I've yet to meet anyone who hasn't loved Icmeler, but if Redroz doesn't feel that way, that's up to her. I just don't feel there's any need to be quite so agrressive or insulting in her posts though.
