Eddie's Bar Icmeler

Postby JT » 11 Jul 2011 08:17

I was driving around last night looking for somewhere to relax and have a drink and lots of places were busy so drove past them.

I have been passed Eddie's a few times but didn't have the inclination to go in but last night I did and so very glad I did

Please make a point of trying this bar, in a quiet side street near to Diva bar but a 100 times better than Diva

We had a few drinks, listened to some nice music and not a dancer in sight

Try this place you will not be dissapointed

I agree that Eddies Bar ia a lovely, relaxing, get away from it all place to have a quiet drink and a chat. I do however think its unfair to say its 100 times better than Diva Bar - although I accept everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Diva again has no dancers/robots but unlike Eddies is next to the main road - although this makes it noisier it is great for people watching whilst having a chat and drink. The 2 barmaids - Suzie and Gulay are brilliant. I understand Eddie worked at Diva before setting up his own Bar and it is obvious he took some of their ideas with him eg the comfy sofas. If you like a nice relaxed drink please try both!

Totally agree with J.T. Excellent place to chill out. Good measures in the drinks. Eddie and his twin sister run it. His mother does the cooking and produces value for money food.

I have to agree with John. Eddie's Bar is a lovely little chill out place. I visited here in June and was very impressed at how well Eddie had set up the bar. The food is good too as I ate lunch here about 5 days out of 7. I have travelled to Icmeler for the last 7 years and have always spent most of my nights in the Diva but to be honest if it wasnt for Gulay and Suzan I probably wouldnt go back its lacking atmosphere now that Eddie has gone.
Give Eddie's Bar a try im sure you wont be disappointed.

Myself and a few others have mentioned on this forum that this is an excellent bar. Nice and relaxing, nice music not loud at all and big comfy chairs. Even when we were there in May the place was packed evry night. I find the atmosphere similar to Sabri's bar and in fact many od Sabri's customers were in Eddies most nights

The reason I think it is 100 times better than the Diva is because I deal with lots of people all day every day and to be able to sit in a bar in a side street without looking at lots of people walking by is a great thing in itself

I do agree it lacks Gulay but then as someone said if it wasn't for her at Diva there would be no reason to go for me

Eddie's wins for me and I could have been in any Turkish resort last night in that back street

Chocoholic, you obviously been lying in the sun too long, go and sit in darkened room for a while. Only Kidding

Michael jackson and dancing waiters are fine if you are in Turkey for first time but having seen these more times than I care to remember

That is the one thing missing about Icmeler and other Turkish resorts is lack of a live music act, like you would get for example in some spanish resorts. I appreciate that getting a permit to work etc would be difficult and i am guessing is why you dont really see acts
