Company changing our board basis - advice needed

Hi all
Wonder if any of you can advise re this position. Booked accomodation (non ICR) with another site, booked B & B paid for it and receipt arrived which was back in May.
Got email yesterday saying they had made an error, an admin error so website was wrong, and could only offer us self-catering in that apartment or offer alternative accomodation with B & B.
We are leaving in 9 days so really didnt expect this so close to our holiday
Does anyone know the legal stuff regarding this or can offer any advice????

Took them a while to downgrade you which seems dodgey ESPECIALLY CLOSE TO THE HOLIDAY.

Yeah thats what I think...not sure if just to ask for a refund and then book through another site. Just waiting to hear back from them as we have sent them original confirmation. But like you say very close to holiday to do this.

Yes, it happened to us a few years back.Asked for refund, got it.
Returned from hols to find tour co went bust as did airline.

if you can get a refund and book somewhere else then i'd do it.

on the other hand you entered into a contract with them and it's up to them to honour it.

i know what i'd do though.

Apartment is booked with a company called sun n sea holidays (Atol bonded did check)....even paid a protection fee with them incase of them going bust, didnt think would have to worry about being down graded. Apartments are the Sahin Palace.

sorry to hear what they have done. its so annoying they can do this but you do have rights, especially if they are atol.
check consumer advise fro legal stuff.

you should be due a full refund. you could shop around to see what you can get in the time available then decide.

just thoght id add, i always go self catering. you get more room and a breakfast only costs a quid or 2 just lookin on the bright side.

I thought I was getting the best of both worlds an apartment with breakfast which stated you chose off the menu.
The bright side is I will still be getting my taste of Icmeler in 9 days.
Will post an email to the site you haven given me the link to.
like you say worst case scenario is a different place to stay and I have enjoyed every holiday in Icmeler not matter where I have stayed.

Atol bond has absolutely nothing to do with accommodation as it covers the flight only

We sell accommodation and as up to now we are not going bust

Pay cheap get cheap

Our office is in the centre of town, reps are here so feel safe book with us

Thanks JT - but it wasnt cheap wouldnt worry if it was.
If we get a refund will come to you for an apartment.

I would expect better facilities in a self catering apartment as it would be equipped to cook for yourself if you wanted ,not sure bed and breakfast would be as well catered for as hotel would probably assume you would be eating the rest of your meals out.
