Postby redmanc78 » 13 Jun 2011 20:53

hiya everyone.
going back to icmeler again this year for the 4th time and have been discussing with a friend about the place and where to stay.
can somebody tell me where abouts in the old village the high school is as that is where friends are staying? is it far from the mosque?

If its the school I am thinking about it's about a 1 minute walk from the mosque near the Wednesday market, 10 minutes walk from the old mosque in the village near Captain Sinbads.

If you mean the Mosque in the old village, walk on past the mosque (heading away from the beach direction, towards the mountains) and the school is at the end of that road. You cant miss it its painted a yellow and orangey colour. Hope this helps.

Hi redmanc,
take a look at http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8& ... 8e86a260a2 there are two mosques in Icmeler, some people consider the old village to be near De ja vue and the market, but after walking round Icmeler, I consider the Old village to be near the 2nd Mosque nearer Sinbads, Between Sinbads and Tommy's is a new school. That may be where your friends are staying.

Stevew is correct the new High School is indeed in the old village between Captain Sinbads and Tommys. The Oren Hill apartments are directly opposite the school. People who class the area around Deja vu as the old village can mislead people, to my mind anywhere heading to the mountains from Cafe Rose and the Miami is the proper Old Village. Hope this helps.
