zeynep, love that story. i could just picture it. one thing the turkish have is a fantastic sence of humour.

Zeynep is my daughter - and it was really funny :D We also had a laugh with another couple that we met a few years ago - we told the lady that seni seviyorum (I love you) meant thanks. We went out to dinner together and she quickly realised from the reaction she got from waiters that it didn't mean thank you! It was so funny that she quickly forgave us for misleading her!

Irene, bira means beer, bir means one, so one beer please would be bir bira lutfen or bir efes lutfen. enjoy :P
