Hi Janus,
We always fly j*t2. Baggage allowance a huge 22 Kg,s and NO weight restriction on hand luggage as long as the bag fits into the check-in rack.

We found that too, Katie - thought it was great that they had started flying from Glasgow, but once you added up all the different charges, they worked out a lot more expensive, 22kg or not! :)

When we flew from Glasgow on 21 May with Onur Air they were being very strict about luggage allowance and people were being charged. It was the same with hand luggage they also weighed this for numerous people and they were also being charged.

For some strange reason I'm always below the 20kg luggage allowance but my friend is always over ha ha but she does take a ridiclous amount of clothes as she won't wear the same top twice

Last year we bought holdalls from Argos to use instead of our usual suitcases and saved 3.5 kilos each. The empty suitcases weighed 5 kilos each whilst the empty holdalls weighed less than 1.5 kilos. I also gain by putting a number of things in my jacket which has a number of pockets, as this doesn't get weighed  We don't have a problem now with the luggage allowance but still take the luggage scales with us, just in case (pardon the pun)

Hi All,
Re J2 flights. I cannot comment on O*** flights & prices cos I have never used them, mainly being all the posts I have read about their flight changes and cancellations. I have only travelled to Icmeler once on the "Midnigt Cowboy" run and vowed never again.
We paid £1050-00 for 4 return flights with J2 (£262-50 each) which included inflight meal, pre-booked seats & extra leg room. O.K. we booked early - 11months before leaving.
The real beauty of J2 from Newcastle is take-off time 10-30AM arrive Dalamam 5-00 PM so the first EFES is going down round about 8-00pm (earlier if you leave the unpacking until later)!!!
Worth an extra few bob of anybodies money.
Cheers

yeah i agree j2 seem to have good flight times but i guess from scotland its not worth the extra money when you add it all in
also they charge you i think it was £16 to check in at the airport :?
thought this was part of the service

We have been on Onur, pegasus and jet2, and Jet2 by far the best - ok few £s more but on line check in, 22kg, good flight times which they generally stick to ( we dont fancy the red eyes either).

Plus the flight staff :) :) and appear to want to provide excellent customer service.

Hope I get a discount from my September booking :D :D

i love the red eyes - my view is why spend the daylight (sunshine) hours travelling when you can do it at night, get a bit of a kip on the plane and arrive in time for breakfast?! Flying with Th****** this year - out on 2 July for 2 weeks...20kg allowance standard so will let you know how it goes. Happy holidays everyone!!
