Dream boys bar

05 Jun 2011 20:38

we visited icmeler in mid may and everything was great apart from one thing.
dream boys bar = hassle
every time we went past it we were hassled big time to go in,i was poked in the chest and asked why not, just because i said no thank you.
we had to then avoid going past it after being hassled three nights on the trot.
every other bar in icmeler treated us with respect and courtesy.
we will be going back next year, but will avoid dream boys and never recommend any body to go there.
andy.

they were shut down for 3 days last year for hassling so they are on thin ice

Must admit, we had exactly the same experience, and when my daughter and I did eventually give in and go in for a drink, it was awful! Service was appalling, the drinks were very poor - we wouldn't go back either.

Are the dream boys still on the canal next to the Private hotel ?

yes they are still by the canal

Tha hassel there has always been bad, we always walk down the otherside of the canal and cross over one of the wooden bridges further down to avoid them.

We did eat in there years ago but their overuse of the stobe light caused problems for my wife.

Do what we do- learn a few words/sentence of a language that you know they haven't a hope in hell of knowing. They just give up thinking you cant speak English!

hmmm.... I have been visiting Dreamboys for 8 of the last 10 years - not been for last two but I am back at end of June, I and my family have always had a great time in Dreamboys and never had a problem.

Yahya has sold his share and this year runs the revamped Friends bar in the square, so I wonder if things have changed for the worse ;( I still intend visiting to see what waiters remain and will report back.

Sad to see if true as I say our family were always treated excellently by Dreamboys in the past!

"Nie dziekuje, nie chce sie na pasku" always works for me. But then again being 6'5" and 18 stone I do find that a polite but firm [b]No usually does the trick too.

Yes they did seem a bit more pushy than normal, perhaps it's the fact that there are no stalls down the canal and less passing trade.

If I go past Dreamboys in September, I shall say----Na, dim diolch.--

Dreamboys is ok if you like that sort of thing (and by 'that sort of thing', i mean a whirlwind holiday romance with the promise of eternal love and happiness which will no doubt end in tears and bitterness leading to a cover story in Take a Break magazine)

They have always been pushy but its harmless, ive always had a laugh with them and they know id rather eat glass than go in...a polite no will suffice

hi erik, they wouldnt take a polite no as an answer, they would then asked several times "why not" and follow you.
this was the only place that i had a problem and was a shame that i felt i couldnt walk that area without being overly-harrassed.
i have also posted this review on other sites and it seems that a lot of other people have had similar problems with them.

I just refuse to even walk past this bar anymore they have always been the same for hassle. I believe Yaha is now at the Friends Bar on the square which is a place I like so will have to see what the hasseling is like there before I go in.

Quite right too, so many lovely restaurants, so little time :D

As a regular visitor to Icmeler for the past 12 years, I can safely say Dream Boys
is the worst restaurant for hassle.....we have recently returned and again we got
hassle....how many ways can you say no thank you politely before irritation sets in.
When I finally told them they were the worst restaurant for hassle in Icmeler I was
told to walk down the other side of the canal and as we walked away I heard
one of the boys say b.....ds, I have never come across this abuse before in Icmeler
and fully intended reporting them to the Belediye, it was however weekend and by the
time monday came round I had other things to do. We continued to walk past and didn`t
get any more hassle from them for remainder of holiday, but no doubt they will have
forgotten us by September, but I will report them if it happens again.

Doesn't look like they will ever learn some manners in that place, this is from 2/3 years ago
