Just back. Only problem we had was lack of hot water for a shower in early evening. These apartments are basic, but clean, and quite big. Not sure I'd want to use the chair beds in the sitting room as they're very small. Ok for a child, but not for a grown up. Good location.

Hi, we are also going in 14 weeks time AND its our 3rd time to these appartments, so cant be that bad !! Actually my brother who is 6ft 3 managed to sleep on a chair bed without too much difficulty,
What i would like to know if anybody remembers, is how much is the aircon and the safe please? we didnt use aircon last year as it was later in year but this time think we may need it (20th Aug) !!
Hope everyone has a great time, we cant wait , Joan (pastie63)

hi fifegirl, I would be interested to hear how you get on with the hot water for shower. When we there in Sept we had problems for 3/4 dys with no hot water for shower. Also the apartments were not cleaned & we had to ask for clean towels. It could have been staff winding down as it was mid Sept. Is Ali the receptionist still there? He didnt think he would be there this year. Any info appreciated. Thanks

Hiya. I didnt stay there last year as i left it too late to book, but my big sis and bro in law did. They stayed for 10 days and didnt mention any probs with water. They did get put into an apartment on the top floor, but asked to get moved, with no problems. Any time i have been there the rooms have been spotless and cleaned every day. Also plenty towels, so you could be right about the time of year. Its the same cleaning staff as have beenfor the last 3 or 4 years.

thanks everyone. the hot water thing is pretty usual in every place you stay. they use the sun to heat the water i think. when its gone its gone. who needs a hot shower in that heat anyway?
are the safes behind reception?
i read somewhere aircon was £3.50 a day. about £40 for 2 weeks. this is what its been for tha last few year. it might sound tight but im not paying that much when im out 90% of the time. sleeping is not a problem, im usually well oiled by bed time lol.
any good trips? ive done the usual jeep safarie to death. would advise it to any newbies tho.
will still do a lazy day boat trip. how much is it to hire a boat for yourself? got a group of 15 adults with us.
any one tried the real turkish resturant? i love to try traditional food. whats it called and where is it?
god, i cant wait to get there. never went away last year so im buzzing.
roll on 18th aug

Hi I'm fifegirl's sister. This will be my third time at Ekinci and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The safe is in the bedroom under a shelf in the wardrobe. Yep aircon is £3.50 a day but in August you probably will need it, sozzled or not. Was so warm last year at the end of September up at 40 degrees most of the time and that was early evening. There is a brill Turkish restaurant just at the back of the bank in the square. We went last year and the food was fantastic, cheap and lots of it. We will be there August 26 so might see you then. The barbeque cruise is well worth the money, all day at sea going round 5 or 6 bays and lunch all for 10 lira, can't be bad.
