Getting married in Icmeler Summer 2012

Hiya

My boyfriend and I are getting engaged over in Icmeler this August with the plan to get married over there next summer.

We are both British and my boyfriend is a divorcee.

Has anyone got married out there and is it easy to do and plan ?

I don't really want to get a Tour Operator involved. As we have more than a year to plan it, thought we will have plenty of time to get it sorted.

I have been going to Icmeler for over 12 years and have some close friends over there, one of which has agreed that I can use his bar to get married in and to have my reception, as we are hoping lots of family and friends will come over.

Any help and advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi Barbs,
First of all many congratulations on your forthcoming engagement and impending marriage.
I would suggest looking at www.turkishconsulate.org.uk and click on the Marriage and Divorce section and then on Foreigners Getting Married in Turkey. It will then give you all the information you will need re permissions/visas etc.
