Not Long now

Postby DELMAR » 03 May 2011 11:14

20 days to go and we'll be there, only problem is my stomach is churning already :( I don't take very kindly to flying at all, and it's even worse now that they don't have films on to watch now, that used to break the journey up for me. I do luv it when I get there though :D Any advice?

you can now rent a psp for £7.50 for the duration of the flight
and im sure they include games and about 7 films
if you enjoy the films you may want to hire one of those
hope this helps im sure you will have a good flight

I fly with tc and I think its a rip off how they've took the inflight films off, and then charging you for entertainment (psp) flying bores the hell out of me so the films did help pass the time.

I have flown with many different airlines over the years to Icmeler and not one of them had an inflight screen for movies. as far as I know It's just for long haul and has been for a few years now.
I HATE flying........every little noise, bump, noise and grind fills me with terror. I usually take a book to read but end up not really taking in what I am reading as I am so paranoid and scared that I cant concentrate- doesn't stop me flying though! :D

I hate flying too, I hear every slight thing so I tend to put my Ipod on and listen to very loud music, my husband likes flying so he's always entertained the kids but they are 10 and 17 now so have their own gaming consoles and ipods!! I also try to read but I am forever looking out of the window! My doctor prescribed me some pills the other year but they just gave me a bad stomach so don't take anything. I spray Rescue Remedy on my tongue just before take off and that is quite calming and it is all natural ingredients, you can buy capsules and all sorts now, Boots the Chemist sell it all. Do you know anybody with an IPod Touch? If so maybe they would download a couple of movies on for you and lend it to you?? Enjoy your holiday

Yeah I've heard that Rescue Remedy is good or them Calms tablets.

Just try to keep yourself entertained with a book, puzzles or them travel board games and try not to think about it :P

we always fly with TC and they have started doing it
you think the children would all want one but the flights that we have been on recently there have been plenty in stock
im sure the other companies will either do it or do something similar

Flying doesn't bother me in the slightest (one you've jumped out of a plane at 10,000 feet, nothing does, lol) but just wondered if anyone has tried those fear of flying courses which they run at several airports across the UK. A friend of mine is terrified of flying and was considering trying the course, but wondered if it was worth the expense - and did it work?

I'm terrified of flying as well. I always say on the plane that I can't fly again as it's just too stressful, yet as soon as I get home I start checking the flights again.

When I first flew with Onur Air I was convinced that there were problems because of the noise of the engine, nobody else seemed bothered but I was panicking for the whole flight as I was convinced that something was wrong. On the return flight the noise was exactly the same. We've flown with them quite a number of times and I don't panic now as I know that the sound of the engine is normal for that plane, but any slight change makes me nervous all over again. I still can't wait for the flight to end though. Look forward to the day when we can say 'Beam me up Scottie.' :)

Well thanks everyone for your comments and advice. I will take them on board ha ha. It's funny but you always think that your the only one thats nervous, I look around the plane and everyone seems relaxed but, it seems deep down in side some of them are just like me :D

Same here, I actually listen to the engine and I think I know every little noise it's supposed to make :D , anything different and I start to panick! I've started listening to music so I can't hear the engine but it doesn't stop you feeling the bumps
