Lets hope the rebuild is an improvement, saw a programm this week showing how bad the one in Gumbet was,so bad that the cleaners all walked out last season, and they shut the hotel for 2weeks over health and safety issues.

Yes I did, it was terrible. Did you see the reviews on a hotel called the Altin Orfe in Icmeler that was published on TA? Gob smacked or what! How can these hotels run when they get the sort of publicity that they are getting. I though that it may have been a one off, but reading more and more, everyone said the same things...it sounds awful. Maybe they should consider pulling that hotel down and rebuilding it to make a decent hotel.

It is still there because it caters for the Russian market and they are happy with the place.

Cheap vodka and a bit of food now and then is all they want.

If UK companies put UK people in there then they know what they are doing and the people are getting it for so cheap it should ring alarm bells straight away

We sell that hotel but not to the UK market along with some others because we get Russians mailing us asking for it

Is The Litera Hotel not in the square near the Lighthouse. It was closed down because of the collapse of Gold Trail if I'm not mistake

Maybe some one can correct me if i am wrong, but i believe this hotel was owned by the guy who had Hotel Private. I remember staying at the Private when a coach pulled up with Russian visitors, and the receptionist took them to the Litera, cant remember what it was called then ? :)

You are correct It was the sister hotel to the Private and was called the Saba until it had a case of Leigonaires Disease. They changed the name very quickly after that and I believe sold it off. It like the Private, where we spent many happy years and called it fawlty towers, was badly in need of some serious investment.

It was called the Sarba then it got changed to the Grand Saral then Literia. My Husband caught legionella pnumonia from that hotel in 2005 .He was Very ill ,when we came home, and ended up in the high dependency ward in hospital. But it didn't put us off Icmeler. :D
