Hi guys,
Me and my mates (about 6 guys) are planning to go to Içmeler next May (2011) for my 30th (takes a deep sigh and realises I'm getting old). I had planned to go out on the 9th of May for a week but after speaking to a turkish friend he has advised me to go at the end of May as nothing will really be happening in the early part of May. What are others experiences of going in the early part of May?
Thank you for taking the time to read this post

I agree, till about 15 may it is very quit in Icmeler. After that date it will be more bussy day by day. Also the weather is more stabile at the end of may and the water warmer.
But anyway you will have a great time there, enjoy and have a nice birthday.

I have not seen much difference when I have been at the beginning of May or the end and I have been going for many years now, some years for 3 or 4 weeks in May. Everywhere is open at the beginning of May. If you want it really busy then July and August are the months to go.
Am sure you will have a better time there whatever date you go than if you go to most other resorts around the world that I would not even consider.

Maureen & I went 17th May last year for a week, everything was up and running, weather was a bit changeable but seemed to improve as the month went on.
We got 2.18/2.20 exchange which again improved abit as the sumer went on much better in September - as was the price of efes

Thank you all for your replies. I have been going to Içmeler for 4 years now and we always aim for July (obvious reasons of hot weather, cold Efes and the rates are usually better). I will put it out to the board (my mates lol) and let them know that later in the month would be better but the start of the month will still be fun.
Cheers guys

End of May is better, but remember its bank holiday time so more kids about and prices always rise for departures after 24th.

Well it seems you cannot rely or predict the weather even there now as I went for 5 weeks May/June this year and it was actually colder at night at the end of my holiday than at the beginning and I needed a cardie or wrap around me on my evenings out as I was cold but not the first 2 weeks. I was surprised.
