Sounds okay, but not a patch on stovies! Can't beat a plate of stovies, especially in this cold weather!

Well, you could ask 100 people how to make stovies and you'd probably get 100 different variations on a theme.
Here's a basic recipe:
http://www.scottishrecipes.co.uk/stovies.htm

However, some people make their stovies with sausages, others with corned beef, etc etc etc - and each one will swear their recipe is the best! As someone mentioned about the scouse though, stovies are always better if they've stuck to the pan a wee bit, so you get crispy bits! Yum! :D

My Mum made it with beef, but sometimes she would make it with sliced sausage, but she would boil the sausage first to get rid of the excess grease, lovely, warm and filling on nights like we have just had.

thanks Blondie

the scouse is on as we speak, but it looks like we'll be having stovies next week - sounds great, may also give skilkie [sp] a go too
think i'll do it in the oven though cos the burnt bits are the best
when we were kids, we used to plead with my mum to burn the hash when she fried it the second day
mmmmmmmmm
