Hi all,
anymore news on the stella show? do you have to pay to go in now?
cheers dodge

Yes, there is now a charge of 15 lira but that includes your first drink.

greed may mean less custom imo

Worth every kouros! You'd expect to pay £££s for a show of this calibre at home, so it's good value for money. The meals are excellent, and quite reasonable, too. A great night out, and something different from the usual Michael Jackson, Freddy Mercury, and belly dancer shows.

Think we are with the majority,
Went last year and really enjoyed it, however drinks price where higher as was the meal, but that was fine as the entertainment was part of the package.
This year if we are asked for 15YTL on top of increased drink and food prices, I think we ll give it a miss.
Did hear mention there was a new show this year, is that true ?

i dont think its fair to charge 15TL and then have the drinks an food more expensive than normal as well
to me it should be one or the other
and i hope that because they are doing both that it doesnt lose them a lot of business

I believe that this is the case as it's stated on Michael's facebook page, he has also apologised for the entrance fee set by the Harmony, he has no control over this area as he is just a contracted employee.
The Stella show is fantastic and we would normally go 2 or 3 times in a fortnight but with the higher food and drink prices it is now an expensive night, a comment has been made elsewhere that the charge has been implemented as tables were occupied frequently by people who would stop for two hours and have only one drink, if this is the case then I am fine with the door charge but knock it off your bill .

Well said Dave
I made a few comments on here regarding the entry fee.... and I thought its a rip-off
Like you Dave, we went 3 times last year each time spending £££s, meal, drinks and cocktails for the 5 of us.
Your idea of only charging entry fee if your only drinking a few is a good idea.
We may even think about going this year if they dont charge us entry fee for the 3 kids , but 5x 15 lira just to sit down sounds a bit OTT, If you then take the cost of the first drink free it sounds like you are getting a deal, your not realy

.
I looked at his facebook and You are right it has nothing to do with him he is only an employee,.
They have to pay for the refurb somehow and I think this is the way.
If we dont go to the Stella show, we will pop in for lunch one day as the food is very good.

Cant help but think this policy will not increase revenue, if our comment are any indication.
Having said that its Maureens birthday whilst we are there in September, and it was agood night last year.

'fraid it's highly unlikely we'll be visiting the Show this year simply because of the entrance fee - end of an era for us as we've been going since it first opened and loved every visit. sometimes 2 or 3 times during the hol.
Of course we'll nip down to see Michael and the lads and we'll be sure to let them know why we'll be giving it a swerve.
Don't mind paying extra for the food and drink given the night of entertainment, but 15TL each is wayyyyyyyyy too much for our holiday budget - almost £7.50 at current exchange rates. Stella's management really do need to have a rethink on this - we may be Brits abroad, but c'mon!
We may as well go to Funny Girls at home - ok chances are we'll have to stand, but a full show there ranges from £3.50 !!!!
06 Jun 2010 19:40
We would typically spend 120-150 Lira at the Harmony, now with the entrance fee it will more like 200 Lra, with todays exchange rate its getting close to £100 for a family of four.
I may pop down for lunch one day and see if I can get a deal going for having lunch and booking an evening meal, if I can't get a deal then I won't be going.

it now has big glass doors at the front so that you cant stand and watch, I think its fine that there is a charge, look at the charge at Talk of the Town and in my opinion Stella is far superior!
Apparently the 15 lira gets added onto your bill and you pay at the end of the night not at the door on your entrance. If you think of a voddie and coke being 9 lira and you then are only paying 6 lira in theory as you can have any drink off the menu foc. Get a 15 lira cocktail and make the most of it!
07 Jun 2010 13:50
Its not the door charge I object to, it is the fact that the drink and meal prices have always been higher as you are seeing a show, if the prices were the same as everywhere else I would not have any objection.
If anyone goes can you confirm that it is any drink off the menu, if this is the case then it may still be worth it.

If the Stella show charges this year, whats to stop other places charging next year ? Or the door price going up next year ? I think we need to loudly object to this and say NO were not happy.

Well said.
I think a lot of couples/singles will take the hit and pay the entrance fee, it's those who are on more of a budget or with kids in tow when it starts to get really expensive.
07 Jun 2010 14:35
There's an easy answer - if you don't like the idea of the charge, vote with your feet and just don't go there!
To be honest, it doesn't affect us, as the Stella Show has never really appealed, but if numbers drop, they may well see the folly of introducing the charge and think again. Can't really see other places following suit and introducing similar charges though, unless they were to offer a similar type of show as part of the package.
07 Jun 2010 14:54
As said above it has never appealed to me either but my friends rant and rave about it all the time so was thinking of going this year. Don't think I'll bother now as I will be skint enough after being there for 4 months!!!
07 Jun 2010 19:47
i hope there not getting gready due to fact turkey is top destination this year.i give it miss family 4 ,60 lira then overpriced food and drinks i dont mind paying ,but entrance fee as well ?
07 Jun 2010 20:05
I have only seen it once, and probably wouldn't go back to see the show for another few years, but I did plan on gonig this year, as our Daughter and Grandson are coming with us. A bit pricey though when you think 60lira on top of the more expensive food and drink.
08 Jun 2010 09:07
My mum and dad seen the show last year and I didn't go, I wanted to go this year but im literally on a small budget since I have no job... Might try and go lol... WIll decide when I get there since there is sooo many other place I could try
