airport no show plz help

Postby jonffs » 21 May 2010 05:10

hi guys
ok heres my problem i have booked to come back in august for 6 people , 2 of these being my brother and his girlfriend since booking they have split up and she wont be coming we have booked 2 apartment with 2 adults and 1 child in each now one of the aprtments will only have 1 adult and 1 child , do i really need to inform the holiday company that she is not comming or can we just go to the airport and they will put her down as just another no show for the flight ? because this way we will incur no more charges as we have already paid the suppliments for the rooms etc so its not like the apartments will be losing out just means there is an empty seat on the plane

please help before my head explodes from the stress levels :(

Would not like to say as i guess it depends on the terms and conditions of the company you booked with. But as August is a fair way off I would say nothing as maybe they will get back together and if you had cancelled you would incur more charges to make the amendment.

Ah well i would do the same as you and say nothing are you sure one of his mates would not like to go? You could sell it to him and the amendment for the name change would probably only be about £30. Seems a shame to waste a holiday to Icmeler.

he has asked around but there seems to be no takers so looks like he lost the money , even told him to just sell it for the name change fee so he gets 30 and someone gets a very very cheap holiday :D the no show seems the best option but we dont want to incur extra charges like i said the arpartments wont be losing out as its all paid for anyway , just means one less person sleeping in one , were actually staying in marmaris this time but i know you guys are the most helpful around

been in the same situation before and went with the no show - and had no issues.

when you check in at the airport just advise them that the particular passenger wont be travelling - as you say all paid for so doesnt affect anything - shame about the wasted holiday though...

I would go along with the no-show. And who knows, August is a long way off and he might find someone else to come along by then. Just remember to tell them when you land for your transfer that they will be one short. Di.

yeah i would go along with the no show
we had to do it before and had no issues
the extra charges that you would incurr would be a lot so there is no point in costing you even more money when its already all been paid for
hope this helps

had a similar issue two years ago when I split with my husband a couple of weeks before flying out.
being a reasonable sort of lass i left it until the absolute last minute for him to decide if he wanted to come. literally just a couple of hours before flying he decided against it.
having been to icemeler 14 of 15 times before thought "s*d it will go my own".
I had no problems at all at the airport , i just explained at the check in desk that there was only me flying and that was it.
had a great holiday by the way as Icemeler worked it's magic.
:D 8) :)

thank you for all your replys i think we will be doing the no show , my daughter does have a friend she is going to ask but as the missing person is an adult this might change the prices taking another child instead its somethin i will have to look into but i would guess there should be no extra charge as adults places are generaly more expensive than a child place

well im trying to not let it stress me and the no show does sound like the best option if we cant fill it , and yeah i had forgot about telling the transfer lol could have been sat at dalaman for hours while the rep hunted high and low :P

You may wish to consider offering the ticket on EBay. The cost to change the name will be a fraction of the cost of the flight, and you never know, it may just suit somebody...

Just a thought.

My friend took ill in october and i was left to go to icmeler alone :( I rang up the holiday company a few days before and explained the situation and they said I didn't have to do anything they would just class her as a no show at the airport. Didn't have a problem at the airport either end or at the hotel.

I would advise you to ring the company and say that there is a 'possibility' that one of your party may not be able to travel and ask what you would have to do in that situation. Then you would find out if you have to pay extra or not before you actually tell them that a member is definitely not coming. Hope that made sense lol :)
