Efes Inn Hotel

Hello there,
we are a family of 3 staying in the efes inn in august, half board. Ive read reviews but wondered if anyone here had stayed in the efes inn? Wondering if its still best to have a room on the 5th floor, as thats reprted to have the best rooms (refurbed) and the best air con. Also wondering do the rooms have tea/coffee making facilities?
Its our first visit to icmeler and I feel a bit nervous about it, having previously stayed in gumbet - which we loved, although reading the forum has slightly put me at ease cos you lot love icmeler !! Im a bit dissapointed the dolmus between marmaris and icmeler stops at night - in gumbet its an all night service to bodrum.
I enjoy reading the forum, looking at the webcam and the photos from icmeler are great - you're a fab bunch !

I'm staying here too for the first time in July too!! This is my 7th time to Icmeler, having stayed in lovely apartments in the old village, I too am a little anxious about it too! Quite sure it will be fine though as ICR promote this hotel so must be fine! Many people seem to visit this hotel over & over again, which must mean it's not too bad!! Enjoy!!

Haven.t actually stayed there, but walked passed it lots , nice looking hotel ideally situated for both beach and town centre, good restaraunt, think you,ll all love it,and the town.

We stayed at the Efes a few years ago, its a great hotel, good location all the staff were great. We went as a family and were not disappointed.
You will have a gret time.

Whats the food like half board? Is it a buffet or do you choose from a menu? What times are the meals?

Hi, Ive stayed at the Efes twice before. Its a nice hotel and the staff are really lovely. Comfortable, spacious rooms I thought and there was a kettle and a fridge in the room both times. Ive only ever stayed on the 1st floor though, but it was nice enough. Air conditioning went kaput a couple of times but we only had to go down to reception to report it and they fixed it straight away. Mind, that was about 3 years ago, it might be perfect now. Pools canny too. The restaurants down from the pool is lovely, nice food and pleasant atmosphere.

I have been going to Icmeler for the past 12 years and the Efes Inn is undoubtedly my favourite hotel.
I first stayed there in 1999, then twice in 2000, twice in 2006, last year and am going again next week.
The views are fantastic, the rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are big with a vanity unit round the sink so plenty of room for all your beauty products, and the shower is over the bath so plenty of room and no water splashing all over the floor.
The air conditioning used to be rubbish ( although never put me off staying there ) but in 2008, when I didn;t stay there, I popped into to see the receiptionist, who has worked there all this time, who told me that the rooms had all been refurbished and gave me a key to have a look. And low and behold, new, big air con units. So in 2009 I was back there.
There is no noise at night from nearby bars, the staff are all very friendly, the pool area is clean, although small, but then we always head to the Beach which is so close, you can nip back to your room for toilet breaks and a quick cool down.
My friends and I have tried different hotels, but we always end up back at the Efes. I now would go no where else in Icmeler.
It is a superb hotel and am sure you will have a great time

Hi there we have stayed at the Efes several times and had Fantastic holidays, the staff are the best in Turkey,
we have stayed there as part of a large group, and once or twice as a family of three, Many of the guests are return visitors so its like a large extended family. rooms great food excellant views unbelievable so i am sure you wi ll have a really great holiday. We have been to Gumbet and had a great holiday but there realy is no comparison to Icmelerl

We have stayed at the Efes Inn twice and it is a great hotel, like people have said the staff are great the rooms, especially on the 5th floor are excellent and we stayed half board and the food was really nice too, the only thing that did bother us was that people would gather in the hall way bit in the morning from 7am and it would make it quite noisy especially as we were getting in at 4-5am then getting woken up by lots of chattering, but that is my personal opinion, we are young and were getting in late and getting up late, so each to their own, apart from that I cannot fault the hotel at all and would go back like a shot, happy holidays!!!

Just want to say a massive thankyou to you all for your posts - they really have put my mind at rest.
Only thing I got to figure out now is how to get a room on the 5th floor ha ha
Last year in gumbet we asked our tour operator for a high floor room, and a friend who goes to turkey alot suggested we take a bottle of jack daniels with us, from duty free, and offer that to the hotel in exchange for their best room - this worked and we had a fab room with a fantastic view - I'm wondering could this work in the efes ? Or will this be likely to offend ?
Can ICR get us a 5th floor room ? Id happily pay extra for this service !
Edited to add - we've booked a private transfer so will (hopefully!) arrive before the tour bus drop off.
Only thing I got to figure out now is how to get a room on the 5th floor ha ha

I don't think I've ever had a room on the 5th floor.
Many times on the 4th though. Usually when we arrive on the Friday, if we are in a side room, we ask if we can have a seaview once the next changeover has happened which is the Monday, and they let us move.
I think the sea view rooms are very much in demand, and the Hotel has lots of regulars that go.
You could try with the bottle of Jack Daniels and if it doesn't work - drink it yourself...
It's a lovely hotel, and which ever room you end up in, you will have a fantastic time

We got back from our third visit to The Efes Inn on Monday and it is still as good as ever.
There have never been any tea making facilities on the rooms however there is a Tv and fridge (albeit a rubbish one).
The staff are what makes the place, and since our last visit 2 years ago, there has been a bit of a turnover in staff, but they are still just as friendly as the last bunch.
The half board is spot on, breakfast is the usual turkish affair with eggs, bread and sheese etc, but the evening meals are brilliant. Soup of the day, a choice from the menu (steaks and lamb have a surcharge, which was £10 for the leg of lamb for 2) and the pudding of the day. You can't really ask for anything more.

barbara you may not have stayed on the 5th because it was only extended two years ago...stayed quite a lot and you cant go past it really. Nice hotel, fantastic location and the food is nice too.
Not sure that would work with the JD though, to be honest because 90% of the people who stay in the hotel are repeats that have stayed for years they have a good relationship with teo the receptionist and he sorts their "usual" room out as a favour, I would imagine July and August most rooms are already arranged for repeat guests. I know ours is always the same room!
