be careful if you drink at that bar because you may be asked twice to pay the bill:))) ;)

its a personal experience however i think its time to share it with all of you so that maybe it will give an insight to why we do not deal with these apartments.

We used to work and do lots of custom with Bahar Apartments until the day we were asked by "the owner" to pay for the rooms we used twice since the ex manager ran away with the original money we paid for the rooms already...

As a result, the owner threatened to take me to court to claim the monies that were already! paid to him. Some long discussions and explaining the guy(owner) that we had been paying the same manager for the past 3 years against his signature and a receipt, the guy would not have it and although he knew! we had paid our dues, he wanted me to run after his ex manager for the money and pay him again for the same amounts... ofcourse I didnt...so finally he did take me to court:)).....

He lost the case and paid for all legal costs for the case as well.

Since then, bahar has been out of the question for ICR although we are still able to sell it through our contracts with our other networked companies....we simply don't. It is not a personal thing, but more to do with princible I guess..

I still had not mentioned a word about this for many years now, however I just remembered how "the guy" had the face to complain and try to make a bad name for "ICR" telling other agencies on how we are no good with our payments etc when he had all his payments before even the customers had stayed in his property... At one point in time, he even called me to ask for some advance payment as he said he had due cheques and was struggling to find money and i did not think twice and sent out a payment to the guy....only if i knew eh:))

sorry, this was off topic but with so many Bahar Apartment topics, I thought I would share my BIT of experience with this company...

We had a similar experience at the Eda last year. We were asked to pay for a bar bill twice. We knew that we had paid but the management got quite rude so we paid up, only 2 beers, but that's not the point.

We had an experience like this last year. We were sat in Dreamboys and one of the waiters came over and put an extra bit of paper under our glass cup. I asked what he was doing and he laughed and said I hadn't paid my bill from last night. Funny thing was it was our FIRST night in Içmeler. I looked at the paper and it had 2 meals on it and a few Efes. I just ripped the bill up and popped it in the bin. I think it had to be a case of mistaken identity as most of the waiters know me. It didnt stop us going back into Dreamboys though :D

Hi dj

most of the bars/resturants will do that its incase the tax man comes calling :? you will get your bill at the end of the night or when you leave
Always wise to check the bill though as mistakes do happen :(

HiI know this is off the main Topic but,

I never run a tab anywhere .
always ask for a bill before moving on .
check the bill for contents and accuracy .
then when the waiter has completed everything ask if all is OK.

Nothing worse than trying to remember after a few.......

Hi swc24,

I never knew they done that. Last year was my 4th time to Içmeler and that was the 1st time it happened to me. Obviously I was a little taken aback as I thought they would be wanting me to pay for a meal and drinks I didnt have. If they had tried to charge me then I would of hit the roof.
I never run a tab as its too easy for things to get added on (purposely or by mistake). We always check the bill as it is on the table (under the glass etc) and then check it again when we are paying and about to leave.

Also, Rami it is awful how you were treated by the guy at Bahar Apartments. You have every right to post your story as it helps people know what kind of a man he is. If it had happened to the general public then the public would hopefully not pay twice and would never go back there again but you run a business. Personally if affects you as no doubt he will have bad mouthed you and it affects the business also as again he bad mouthed it. Worst thing is you done nothing wrong and potentially if he hadn't of been such an arse he could have made plenty of money out of ICR from the bookings you would have made with him. Instead you showed the world what he is by defeating him in court. People like him make me sick.
Well done Rami for telling us your story. I hope to meet you sometime in Içmeler for an Efes or two.
Also this year is my 1st year booking with ICR and so far im really impressed. Great banter on the phone and really helpful. Will be booking with ICR every year from now on :D

yes, that has happened to us in numerous places with the "fake" bill being put under the glass.

the first time I noticed it was in the Venice on our first visit to Icmeler, and being a bit concerned I asked the waiter what was going on......he just smiled and winked. I was still a bit concerned until a guy at the next table (an Icmeler expert) explained to us it was for some kind of tax reason and then we noticed all the tables were getting them. Seen it in loads of restaurants since. It was funny actually cos we had eaten 2 starters and 2 main courses washed down with a few efes, but the "bill" under the glass stated 2 burgers and 2 cokes. I thought I was on to a good thing :)

"the guy" is the owner of these apartments, well known person in Icmeler... I dont know if he still owns the property but I suppose so.....basically, I just remembered our history with them bahar apartments and thought of sharing it with you (after so many years).... regardless, it should not put you off from using these apartments if you choose to...while working with the bahar, we did not receive many complaints from our customers who stayed there...

Thanks for understanding Karl...;)

I have been receiving questions asking why bahar apartment topics are locked. I have not locked them (with my experience I should delete them) :) but I do not lock them or touch them.
They are maybe locked because the original question is probably answered for the property or given that we do not deal with this property, our admin team may not fancy advertising the property any further...

I was looking into booking these apartments for 4 months this summer. Emailed round lots of places and got a good quote back from bahar but as their english wasn't very good it was hard to decipher what they meant. So emailed back to check the price was for the full 4 months and it wasn't the price per month or anything like that. Next email saying same thing but suddenly the price had gone up from £1200 to £1500 :? So i worked out how many nights it was and said we want to book this many nights and could we have final price. Next thing i know it's £2500. Well that was it for me, never even emailed back!! Price went up double within a few days and they were trying to pressure us into booking saying they were getting full and we needed to hurry up!!

Glad i didn't book them now after reading this. Got a good quality apartment and a fab price from good old ICR :D

thats an awful thing to happen to anyone. There's nothing worse than working damn bloody hard, then seeing someone come along and brazenly try to fiddle you, then, try and palm the blame off on you. Its no wonder you people are not happy!!! I wouldnt be either. I also completly understand the ICR situation with the advertisement of these apartments, goes without saying.
But, saying all that, I have booked these apartments. We made the booking a good while back now. Unfortunatly, long long before we came across ICR, or this website.
So what can we do? We're gonna just keep our wits about us, and have a bloody good time.
We've had a few holiday traumas in the past to now be quite wary, and we're glad of the heads up.
I dont blame you for finally saying what has happend atall.
So we are so looking forward to our first visit to icmeler, and looking forward to popping in to the ICR office, to book all our trips, thats a definate. :D

İ would not recommend Bahar to anyone. We were planning to rent an appartment for 6 months but quickly changed our minds. We were hurried into making the first downpayment before we even had seen the apprtment - which we obviously refused, and when we were finally shown the appartment they would only let us look for 5 minutes. As it looked clean and spacious we accepted the room. The owner promised that the room would be cleaned every 3 days and the linnen would be changed twice a week.
We only lasted a week - and not once have we seen the lady come and clean our room or change the linnen. The rooms next to us were very noisy as they had 6 people staying in a 4 person appartement - which they had assured us before that they would not do. The hot water wasnt working, and the shower head did not work. We had previously agreed on a monthly price, but each time we would go there to sign some papers/complain the price kept going up.
The rooms looked very nice but the service certainly wasnt...

hiya
i wouldnt recommend the bahar to anyone either
we were going to rent one of the apartments for 3 months
and my boyfriend went and paid a deposit to secure one of the rooms one day and said that he would be back with the rest of the months rent the next morning
they said this was fine as they wanted the first month up front
when he went back the next morning the women told him that she had "given" the room to someone else and that there was no longer a room for us
when i emailed the apartments to say how disappointed i was with their service i got a reply saying it wasnt their problem it was the apartments next door that we were supposed to be staying at
so basically a case of shifting the blame
so we are not impressed and feel that the service is rude and not very professional

Ive stayed at them 3 times, we didnt have any problems after we got our room sorted out ofcourse, first they tried to put us in the gods where btw is absolutey boiling & unbearable then tried to put us next to office where our front door was glass sliding patio doors with no lock. If u stick to your guns and tell them your not doing it they will come round and give u what you want. After that first couple of hours we were fine & have wonderful time at hotel & of course in icmeler x
