With me it's from the moment I get the cases down from the loft and wonder how many bottles of suntan lotion I should take. Then that magical first sight of
Icmeler bay with everything gleaming in the sun light and, of course, the taste of the year's first Efes.

Walking around the bay straight past Linekers up the incline straight past Brothers over the helipad and onto the beach, climb up the steps to the Cafe Del Mar and seeing that a table at the front overlooking the beach is free.
That makes me smile

Another thing which always make me smile is the incredibly warm welcome you get in the bars and restaurants - and the fact that they always remember you, even if you've only ever been in the place once before! I've never encountered such genuine warmth and hospitality elsewhere on my travels, and it's one of the things I love most about Icmeler.

Ditto the hospitality - it amazes me how they remember every face from year to year.

Sitting in the Ida with a cold Tuborg watching the world go by and without a care in the world. Work seems a million miles away. Never had that feeling on any holiday other than Icmeler.
Plus, although I've heard it a million times already, I never tire of the boss in the Karaoke bar singing 'The year 2525' in his best pigeon English.

I haven't heard him sing that for a couple of years , I must admit he does a good rendition when he sings it in Turkish.

looking at the hills.
On the beach or balcony, sun bed or bar, the hills of
Icmeler are better by far.
I love chilling and looking up to the hills of Icmeler.
Icmeler puts a smile on my face.

The best thing for me is the minute you walk out of the airport at silly o'clock in the morning, and smell that sweet, spicy smell & hearing the wee beasties tweeting away! Cannot beat that feeling!

HI All
Having never been to
Icmeler before, and going this September for the first time with my wife Jue and our bestest friends Alan and Grainne , I can only imagine fluent drink and gorgeous sunsets good company and a good laugh.
The things that are making me smile now, as I sit here typing are Alans new shorts as I think about them, it could be classed as a bit of a dare, but I have the same pair. So this smile will be present for another 140 ish sleeps.
Really looking forward to Icmeler this year even if Icmeler isnt ready for our shorts.

Awww man I cant wait to get back now. Everything everyone has said. Especially the first view of
Icmeler as we come down the mountain into Marmaris. But as we will be arriving during the night this year, I cant wait for when i wake up and go to have a look out of the window and see the beautiful mountains and the glistening sea in the bay. Awesome!
PS My youngest son will be gutted about the camel as he was going to have a ride this time

I agree with most of the above, but I do have a giggle when Im having a shave and someone comes in for their first Turkish shave. If they get over the sight of the cut throat razer its when they prepare to singe the ear hair.
Sooo funny watching the faces.
