I'm doing my family tree and I've traced my 3x ggggrandad back to Scotland also one of his children who was born in Carron or Carrow can't make out which, can anyone help please,ie where in Scotland.

Not heard of a Carrow, Wyn - but there is definitely a Carron, which is near Falkirk, Stirlingshire. There's also a very small village/hamlet of the same name near Aberlour in Banffshire. Hope this information is useful to you, and good luck with your search!

I have heard of Carron but not Carrow ( Carrow sounds Welsh to me ) and Iam most likeley wrong also.

Sitting twidling my thumbs wantinng something to pass time,,, You have just gave me something to do .

I have found a marriage for my 3xggggrandad but in Edinbourgh(sp) is it far from Carron,I know they used to move around a lot because my 2xgggrandad was born in Wolverhampton in 1810.I think I should have taken more interest in geography at school.

Carron (Stirling) is about 35miles from Edinburgh, driving should take about 40mins as it's mostly motorway

All I have to go on at the moment is that my 3xgr gr gr grandmother was from Dunbar and one of her children born Glasgow this is taken from the 1851 and 1871 census for Staffordshire,so now it means I need the parish records for Dunbar and Glasgow looks like I could be holidaying in Scotland sometime

Going into Liverpool today tuesday my wife is short of holiday clothes .Am i the only glad we can only take 15k .Up and down stairs with 20 was a back breaking .only problem i am on 5k and what i stand up in .might have a look see if John T is around see you in may21 my mind already there
