Just booked flights for Oct half term and now the task of choosing some accomodation. Where we usually stay in the old village will be closed by then so am on the hunt for somewher in the town. I have narrowed it down to 2: The Ustun or The Demi. The thing that puts me of The Demi is that it is on the main road, are there any room sat the back that might be quieter? and the thing that puts me off The Ustun is that the apartments look a bit on the small side and a bit dated. Has anyone got any comments that would sway me one way or the other?
Many thanks.

hi diane
Just to keep you informed although you are going the end of oct for the half term, the old village is still open then with both the aptartments and restaurants it would just be quieter thats all but if thats what you want then its a bonus. There are a few apts that
icr do that are on this site in the old village so it might be worth a look i don't want to complicate things but it might be worth a look if you havent already decided. Rhodes apt is an example just check that they are still taking bookings later in the season, if not there are others to choose from. Hope this info helps.

Look at the Mete Diane.
In the Town and quiet and large inside.
You are correct about the village being quiet then
We do take bookings of course but as soon as it starts getting near to the end of October the bars close up in the village but you will always find Ozzys bar open.

And now there were 3. Had a look at the Mete and they look very spacious and in a quiet location near to the centre. Does anyone know if they have safety deposit boxes.
Also, if it gets a bit chilly at night is there any heating available in any of the apartments?

When people say it gets a bit 'chilly', they usually mean just a bit cooler - so you might need a cardigan if you're walking about at night, for instance. Don't think you'd need heating - we've certainly found it to be still quite pleasant in October.

I have stayed at the Dursun (2008) and the Mete (2009) both are good but the Mete is the better. They both have safety boxes in the rooms payable locally.
The Mete on the other hand is very good and is a sister apt. block of the Kleopatra. The first and second floor accomodation is standard whilst the third floor is attic rooms. The attic rooms have two balconies which allow air flow through in the very hot climate. They are reported to be too warm at night.... which in Oct may not be a bad thing. The guy who looks after the apts. is called Cello and he works very hard to make sure that you are okay....so if you were cold i'm sure he would sort a heater out for you. He lives on site in a caravan so is usually around although his duties do include work at the Kleopatra. The pool gets no shade all day and so would be good in Oct also
There is a bar within the boundaries of the Mete which run by Sabri and his family. Sabri is a really nice guy and he would make sure that you were not cold. He gave us a toaster to use for the 2 weeks and would not take a penny!
If i were going i would choose the Mete over the Dursun but everyones different

We went to
Icmeler last Oct half term and stayed at the Demi. Vince and the boys couldn't have been more helpful and we had a lovely time. It was quiet enough on a night to get a good nights sleep and this was something I was concerned about before we went as we have always stayed out of the way in the old village.
We walked up to the old village a couple of times though the week and it was mainly all shut up so I was glad to stay in the main part of the resort. I would recommend staying in the main part of Icmeler right at the end of the season.

Hi, stayed at the Mete Apts last July and really would recommend these apartments. Nice pool area, plenty of sunbeds, nice quiet back street but minutes from canal and central areas. Sabris bar is next to pool so food and drink are on hand . Tansas supermarket 5 minutes away if required. Apartments are a good size and nice, with balconys over looking pool. I would definetly use again.
