BACON

Postby jules » 11 Jul 2006 21:55

Strange request I know,

I have been asked to bring out some bacon when I go, does anyone have any tips on how to best transport it and what are my chances of getting stopped and having it taken off me.

Hiya, if I were you I would freeze it before you leave home then use one of those coolers that you put cans of pop in for picnics etc. That is probably the best way of ensuring it gets there cool! As for being stopped I have no idea maybe someone else can help with that one.

Bacon

we took bacon out 2 weeks ago for Gunay at the Sevgi aparts.Chill the packs overnight in the fridge then pack them in the towels in your case. The bacon in 800g mutipacks are the best as they are all vacuum packed. The cases then go in the cargo hold which is very cold and it should be perfect when you get out to Turkey. If it is discovered tell them its for your own consumption as you cannot eat the turkish bacon!! I haven't heard of anyone getting stopped though on their way out.
Ask the owner to freeze it when he gets it.
Enjoy.
