Looks like they are focussing away from the Old Village at the moment from what I can understand of the [poor] translation from Hurriyet into English below. I've also attached the link to the article at the bottom if anyone can come up with a better translation [please!!] ..............

am I right in thinking that notices were served on illegal buildings last August and those which haven't complied - starting with a restaurant belonging to an Official's daughter?!

and that the Mayor intends to restore the areas with flora and fauna
Let's hope we're not in for more "empty spaces" like the one that's near the Elif which overlooks the prom near Yakamoz?

i think this may be one of the reason why many people said this holiday season many bar owners and restraunt owners were in moods and being a bit nasty with some people ect ect

I can't believe they have destroyed Dreamboys! I'm so sad!
I know it has had alot of bad press on here but I have eaten/drunk in there for the past couple of years many times and many great meals & evenings in there. Going to miss it lots when I go next year. I wonder if Yaya will open a new place xx

Maybe Zaza hasn't been out for a few days as he just called me and said that only sweet brothers had gone and the others were just in the process.

I asked him about photos and he said too that its raining and he isn't going out in that.

He did say that the old rule of how far the roof sticks out has come into force again and this is one of the main issues.

I see that someone on holidaytruths has just posted that most of the canal bars have been demolished so maybe someone could go on there and post exactly whats gone before people stop booking holidays to Icmeler next year

Like others very dissappointed that the Taj Mahals gone, went 3 times in September hope they relocate by the end of May for my next visit

Yes lıke I saıd some are completely gone and some are just startıng. The ones on the beach front are completely gone whereas others lıke bamboo and dreamboys ıt ıs only the bar area that has been destroyed.

The Taj mahal I couldnt work out - Its defınıtely had some demolıtıon done to ıt but I couldnt work out whether they were buıldıng agaın (??)

That was the best lunchtime place in Icmeler.

Places on the front being mentioned, cant remember its name - it was super and we had several lunches there, filled jacket spuds spot on.

It was onthe promenade as you joined it by the side of the Blue Rainbow there where a few stalls on the right hand side selling towels, turkish delight etc. the restauant was on the left hand side - quite big.

The 3 bells was at the top near to Havana and the sports bar. I hope they have survived the cull.

Looks to me like they're going mad with fountains - I know they are building a new one currently where the tourist information centre is by the Prince Aparts.

Come on someone please post some photos - we need to know what is going on.
Some of the bars 'deserved' to be demolished but what will the canal look like when they have finished?
Cant believe there is no one willing to go out in the rain - it must be just like here in the uk
