Loads of the stalls over there sell fake croc-style shoes - maybe he'd be able to find a pair which fit him better over there. I had to resort to buying a pair over there last year after getting blisters and I have to say, they may not look the most stylish things ever, but they're the comfiest things I've ever worn. They were a godsend at the time, because every other pair of sandals I had with me rubbed on the blisters! Got them at one shop for a couple of pounds.

A lot of markets sell them, as so do some Tesco stores. If you have a Lidl near you, you may get some from there. I got a pair from there a couple of weeks ago, and i had to buy a size smaller than my actual shoe size. Good luck with your search :)
