The smoking regulations do not effect me directly as I give up smoking many years ago and I feel that most of the Brits on holiday will adjust quickly due to similar measures been in place at home. I would like to ask do any regulation include
Hotel rooms or other rented accommodation.

You are not allowed to smoke were there is roof or awning, no problem at night but in the heat of the day. The
hotel I am going to has gone non smoking but you can still smoke on the balcony. I think the majority of properties will do this but who knows.
Anyway, I am sure we will all have great time in
Icmeler regardless of the smoke issue.

I walked past Eastenders at 02:30 this morning and it looked like theoutside of a UK bar.
Gets me though how everyone danced with a smoke in their hand.

As a taxi driver i am aware of the problems the no smoking policy has caused here .it has emptied almost all pubs .Some pubs have created high quality outdoor covered areas and by doing so have retained a fair level of custom most that didnt are now boarded up.Cant see there being much of a problem in
Icmeler due to the outdoor nature of most activities .

This thread was opened to discuss how the smoking ban would affect tourists, bars and restaurants.
We've have already been warned that it will be locked if it starts becoming a slanging match between smokers and non-smokers so why don't we just keep it factual as requested so that the people that are interested/affected are kept in the loop

Well said, lets just keep to factual info on how the ban is implemented and what the impact is.

Correct me if I am wrong, as I know you will, but haven't some European country's disgarded the No Smoking Law as it was affecting to many buisnesses, I have heard that Germany was one of the first to get rid of it. Now wasn't it our EU friends that insisted the law be brought in in the first place.
As I said earlier I will stand corrected if wrong.

It is now 4weeks since the new smoking ban regulations came into force, what are the noticable changes and how are the restaurants/bars staff and costumers managing with these restrictions.

We came back just last week and we noticed a pretty big difference with the smoking-anywhere that has a roof is totally no smoking and this has affected lots of places. Outside Eastenders is now busier than inside Eastenders as there are so many turks go there and as we all know-99% of turks/kurds do smoke.
We went to see Stella show and Michael is most annoyed that during his break he has to go out front for a cigarette along with everyone else-Harmonys was so weird because there was more people sitting on the outside seats smoking than there was inside watching the Stella Show!
We also noticed that some bars around
Icmeler have part covered roofs so there are certain seats in bars such as Buffalo where you can smoke and other seats where you cant.

In july we went to Belgium & holland in both countries they openly smoke in bars & restaurants & at the bar itself i thought they made the law up in the first place. Then again nanny britain will put up with anything

We were in
Icmeler in July when the smoking ban came into force but when i was going outside for a cig they were all telling me to smoke at our table that was even when we were under a roof!!
