The Waterfall Reastaurant/Oscar's Fun Pub

Postby shauna » 29 Jun 2006 20:32

Hi everyone ... just back from from Icmeler for the 5th time & have booked to go back again in September!!!! For the past 4 years we've been going to the Waterfall Restaurant ... where we have found that the service is 1st class as are the meals!!! We have never had a bad meal or sloppy service!!! It is well worth a visit. The staff are truly professional and respectful of all their patrons and are attentive to your every need without being in the slightest way intrusive ... a rarity in most restaurants. The name of the restaurant itself should give you an idea about the setting ... it is situated right beside a waterfall ... a tranquil setting for any meal!

& ... when you've enjoyed your evening meal you don't have to go far for a friendly drink ... just about 30metres will land you in Oscar's Fun Pub!! We managed to spend every single night here!!! The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and the entertainment, whether provided by the staff, bellydancers or breakdancers was amazing!!! It was truly one of the best holidays that I've ever had ... and each year they just keep getting better!!! The staff are friendly here ... again without the "pushiness" that you will find in most bars! It's the sort of place where you decide what you want ... you can participate in the entertainment if you wish ... or you can sit and watch others!! A hassle free night ... wow! Guess where you'll find us come September? Hoiping to add some of the pics we took ... then you can all see for yourselves how much we enjoyed ourselves!!! :D

We got back last friday from icmeler and on the wednesday before we left my fiance and i went to the waterfall for a meal. It was beautiful and very romantic, and we became quite friendly with a waiter at oscars who called himself Jim Carrey. He made a fuss of us everytime we passed.

Hi Margaret

You can just turn up at it ... you'll be made more than welcome & I guarantee that you'll go back for more!!!!

They have tables set up beside the waterfall or you can have a table further away ... even under cover ... the cyhoice will be yours!! They also bring garlic bread as an appetiser ... and it is the nicest garlic bread that we have ever tried!!! My friend & I used to fight over who was going to get the last bit!!!!! It's yummy!!!

Margaret

Just in case you are a lover of fish ... their fish menu is lovely ... & it's about the only restaurant in the whole of Icmeler (actually it IS) where I will eat the fish!!! I had the salmon a couple of times nad it literally made my mouth water!!! Friends who were with us tried the seabass and seabream & they loved it!!! They have the type of menu where you are guaranteed to find something to make your mouth water!!!!

Let me know what you think when you get back!!!

I do like fish but I have heard some really bad stories about people being vastly overcharged for fish on holiday. Charged by the gram and so on. I am very wary but I will try it on your recommendation. Every time i go to a restaurant I always say "no steak", i will try something else. You would think I never ate it at home but I always end up eating it in different dishes. I must must must be more adventurous.
Thanks again

Hi Margaret

You'll be pleasantly surprised here ... the price for the fish is set on the menu!!!! Think my salmon fillet was 21 lira ... peanuts really ... & I got the best potatoes ever with it ... you know what we Irish are like about our spuds!!!! Think I almost licked the plate that night!!! Now if you're opting for prawns .. they are charged by the gram ... but again the price is marked on the menu!!!

Bet you can't wait to go ... have you been to Icmeler before? If you haven't I bet the 1st thing you'll do when you come home is book again!!! Take your camera with you to the Waterfall cos one of the waiters will be only too happy to take a pic for you!!!

You're gonna love it ... so wish it was September so I can go back!!!

Hi Shauna,
We have been twice before and one of the reasons we are going back is that the last time we were there we found it so peaceful after spending two weeks in Gumbet and transferring straight to Icmeler. We said then that it would be our next stop in Turkey for our main holiday not the add on extra week. Report on return.

Hi Margaret

You are soooooo right about Icmeler being much more relaxing than Gumbet ... I went there once & found it a little bit too much ... Glad we found Icmeler!!!!

Another piece of info ... if you enjoy your Sunday Dinner ... I highly recommend that you give the Lighthouse a try ... you will not be disappointed with their Sunday Dinner!!

If you fancy a cooked breakfast ... just like those from home ... go to Oscar's ... it IS the only only with proper sausages ... Heinz beans ... tetley tea ... pan bread (not the usual bread) ... all the comforts from home ... with real Heinz tomato sauce or HP if preferred!!! God ... wish it was me going back!!!

Hi Margaret

Making your mouth water???? ... We've got our whole eating plan for September mapped out!!!!

You should have a really good time ... and again on the topic of food ... Oscar's actually do nice lunches and snacks as well ... & if you want to eat something of the Waterfall's Menu ... but don't fancy going into the restaurant ... you can have it served to your table in Oscar's!!!

Can't wait to hear how you've got on!!! Say "Hi" to Josh for us when you're there ... He'll make sure that you're looked after ... both in the restaurant & the bar!!!

Dying for all your gossip now!!!!
