What is the name of the restaurant on the bottom right of the webcam, feeling sorry for the waiter trying to get people in. I'm going 9th Oct to Palm Garden and have friends in Marmaris at the moment who say it is very quiet compared to last year. This will be our 4th time in Icmeler after a 3 year gap.

turkish lira

Postby sandra white » 27 Jun 2006 06:03

can someone tell me do you think it is wise to change money into lira here before we go .i know the rate is 3 just now but past experience tells me it will fall dramatically by the time we come on the 6th.i can get 2.93 at the post office but i'm unsure as we always take travellers cheques and change them there. thanks sandra

I just got back on Friday and apparently for the time of year it was really quiet, although the second week that we were in icmeler did seem a little busier than the first week.

When we went we didn't take any turkish money at all with us and just changed it when we were there, at the beginning of the holiday we were getting about 2.75 to the £ and towards the end some places were offering nearly 3. We also tended to pay for meals in the restaurnts in english money so when we did change money we only changed a little bit at a time.

Smarta

Efes was 2-3.75ytl depending on where you were drinking when we were there in May

Colette
I had chicken and chips from Harry's for lunch and it was disgusting I dont know what they have started frying their chips in but they were horrible really tangy and the chicken was dry I was really disappointed as we have being going to them for years. We will be giving them a miss when we go back in Sept which is a shame as last year they done the most fantastic Chateu brion (excuse spelling) We have had.

Wellcome back Dianne truth and Rachel.

Sorry I never got round to the Ustun to meet you Dianne but you did meet Terry and Sandra our friends who also stopped at these apatments.
Terry rated the Ustun Highly and said he would definately use them again.

I also noticed that they are only bookable through Icmeleronline.
Surely after a stay of 3 weeks you have some little storries to tell us of your favourite restaurents and bars.
Did you get to Akyaka? only I thought you wanted to go there.

Rachel and truth, would be nice if you also could pop a few lines on the forum for all us poor souls who are just dieing to hear tales of our loved resort

Yes we did meet Terry and Sandra, when staying at Ustan Apartments,The apartments are very nice but will be staying somewhere else next time as stairs are a problem for me.
We went to Akyaka twice,a lovely place, very quiet and no hassle will go there again when we next visit in October.
