A family fell onto lightning from under a tree? Maybe you mean they were under a tree and got hit by lightning?

Hope the family are ok and not seriously hurt.

I've just got back from Holiday in Istanbul and was in the Gardens by the palace when the lightening hit.

I was actually standing next to the man who was struck (about 5m away), and I don't hold much hope he lived. It was incredibly violent and he fell to the ground along with a number of other people, including his wife. Most people got up shortly afterwards apart from the man in question, who remained motionless on the ground with his eyes wide open.

I was very shaken up by the experience, and I'm very interested to know how badly he was hurt.
