Airline Seats

Postby Doz » 01 Jun 2009 09:27

Hi There

We usually fly with TC however this year we are booked with Onur Air. My husband is not the smallest of fellas-he is both tall and shall we say "slightly wide!" and often feels uncomfortable on the TC flights-there really isnt much room at all. We were wondering how these compare to Onur-has anyone flown with both and which seats did you find more roomy?

hi doz not much differance at all between the aircrafts ,i have the same problems, not tall but , quite wide. most planes are made for stick insects known as people, who like to fly at 500 mph ,30,00 ft high, in a long narrow aluminium tube, and breath recycled air ,from 200 peoples lungs. enjoy but bill atkinson

I'm the same Dot,

the arm rests on Onur last year wouldnt even lift up on the aisle seats, I usually sit in aisle seats so I can sit sideways for leg room,
so I made hubby and youngest daughter lift their arm rests up so we all had bit more space, then stuck me legs out as best I could. but a lot of people were uncomfy around us.

Our outbound flight last year was an Airbus 321 and the leg room was fine (I'm 6'2" and 19 Stone), coming back another A321 but leg room a lot less.

You can prebook exra leg room seats two weeks before your flight, look at the website information page.

the big risk is Dave that if they consider you too big they will put you on a different row even if you've booked the leg room seats.

its something about being physically able to open the doors.

But am pretty dam sure in an emergency i'd be the first one there to open the door, no faffing about.

But if only 2 people travelling its worth it.

Never had a problem being in an exit seat and I fly alot with business, although I am heavy not every one thinks I am as heavy as I am (Maybe they are being polite).

Unformtunaley travelling on holiday I have a normal seat due to the fact I am travelling with under 16's, however in 3 years they will be old enough and I will be booking extra legroom.

I'm 6'2 and always find airline seats cramped, I can just about get by though begrudge paying for extra legroom unless I get the flight at a silly price. TC are well known for it's cramped seats though.
