When booking our holiday with TC this year the booking form said baggage allowance was 15 kg and hand luggage 5kg, you could pay to increase allowance to 20kg, sorry cannot remember the charge but thought no way, we would rather leave a few things at home, also charge for inflight meal, once again thought we would have a meal before we left for airport. Yesturday our tickets arrived HURRAY :D and low and behold our luggage allowance is 20kg hand luggage 5kg and inflight meal is being provided. Lucky us, but how many people have paid these extra charges. . I for one would be really pee'd if it was us.

Strange, we have booked through the same, TC allowance is always 20kg and the meal in normally included, you normally have the option to not have the meal or downsize on luggage if you request it.

20kg and the meal have always been in on the deal for us at no extra cost. We prefer this flight provider as they are one of the very few that offer early a.m flights from Gatwick

I'm with TC and we didn't pay extra for luggage (although I wanted it!) but our tickets say 15kg :( Why am I unlucky then!? We are flying with Monarch though.

My Son and I are flying TC, Our E Tickets can be viewed Online but still say 15KG. In fact I was thinking of giving them a call to see if I could up my allowance.

Cheers

Hi mickc we are flying with TC so if you are I would definatly get in touch about having to pay for you luggage. Erik it definetly said payment for the extra's wonder if it might be the tour company trying to get of little perk.

I am also flying TC and paid extra for luggage allowance of 20kg. I think it was £7.50 each way. Didn't pay the extra for meals, would prefer to bring my own sandwiches etc.

we dont use them to fly to dalaman but do when we are going to antalya and have to pay £16 per person for the extra 5 kgs and never bother with the inflight meals as they charge another £52 for the 4 of us for them

Just double checked our origonal booking and it did not include either meals or extra baggage. Quots £10 per person for the extra 5kg and £12 per person for in flight meals.
Looking forward to those roomy seats Collette being 17 stone should be a real cosy jurney. Better start to lose some pounds will be waighing passangers before long and charging per kilo i would not be able to aford to fly

It does depend on when you book. I booked in Feb and had to pay the extra but on their web site it does say anyone booking from March would have 20kg and the meals. Not fair is it. When I asked about this they said it was a special offer which could be withdrawn at any time. On the good side we went out on 767 and came back on an Airbus in premium seats.
Flight time 3.50 from Manchester

Ours was booked last Sept, and as for TC flights, i am over 20 stone and 6ft 6 - its like being clamped in an iron maiden for the flight. They will let you have a door seat - for £25.... last years flight i was cramped in while an 8 year old sat in an isle seat....what great arranging.

We flew home on the TC's 767 last year, they only have 2 now. The one we were on was looking abit worse for wear my arm rest was all cracked. The seat I was in was in a funny place with extra leg room only for one leg, but it was where the aisle had a turn in it, so every time the cabin crew came round with a trolley they told me to get my leg back in, and I fell alseep at one point so the cabin crew just decided to ram my leg with the trolley to make me move it.

We flew twice with TC last year, once we paid the extra luggage and paid for the meal, the second trip we didnt pay for the meal, but still got one, and I spoke to a young couple who said they NEVER pay for the meal, but have always had one.

Fingers crossed I get a free meal tomorrow because I havent paid for them, but I do love the plane meals......

Thomas Cook changed their policy at the end of Feb I believe, so all bookings before this date should not have been charged for their luggage allowance.
Since they changed their policy, you required to pay for checked luggage, which is 15kg standard but can be upgraded to 20kg if you wish to pay extra.
I think it's a joke, but they are cutting corners everywhere!
