Is the L.F.C bar where the Baron was? I thought it was behind it, sort of attached to the back. I thought the Baron was still a restaurant, although it may have changed names....

Definitely won't be visiting any football-related bars, to me it just spells trouble, and we get enough of that at home without having it on holiday too. So I'll be giving those bars a body-swerve!

Im with Dotty on this one, any bars that are football related/named are given a body swerve. In Marmaris there is a Rangers pub and i think several other football related ones have also appeared recently. icmeler may then start turning into another Benidorm( no offence intended to Benidorm lovers).

It sounds like Mr Chef has closed which is a pity as i used to enjoy eating there. I usually stay in the old village and there are some good restautants up there, particularly Ozzys. For those staying in the main town why not try the restaurants in old village you may be surprised how good they are and usually very well priced for both food and drink

I'm a liverpool fan, but I agree, I'm not keen on the idea of bars that stamp a certain club to its name, I love the way all the bars embrace every football team, naming as particular clubs makes you feel only those fans would feel comfortable in there. I Hope I'm wrong on that point.

I really hope we don't see every club bars popping up in Icmeler, they do have a tendancy to copy each others bar ideas if they prove to be successful

We are definately going to visit restaurants in old town next week, went to one last September opposite love star but can't remember the name, very nice though.

New Bars

Postby AussieEve » 08 May 2009 16:38

Hi there,

A good friend of ours called Sabo who has had the 2 Sisters Restaurant for quite a long time (just up from Champagne on the main road) has told us that he has sold the restaurant and has a new bar next door to the Mandolin. He hasnt said what his new place is called yet, and with the Mandolin being on a corner, Im not sure if he means next door in the side street where Linekars is, or on the other side going towards the beach, if anyone can shed any light on this that would be great! we are going on June 15th, but was just curious![/b]

On one side of the Mandolin is a couple of shops and then Artemis restraunt and on the other side is the entrance to Mandolin hotel and then a couple of houses/shops I think. I would presume he's taken over the Artemis restraunt but then again they could have renovated the shops so who knows!! lol

Thanks Alison, I did think about the Artemis, but I couldnt remember what was round the other side! I think maybe its the Artemis he's taken on then, Oh well! no doubt all will be revealed when we get there, not long now! Sabo is a nice man and plays good music and looks after his customers well, so should be interesting to see what his new place is like!
