me and my wife went to icmeler in 06 and 07 and loved it.
we would love to go back this year in july(this is the only time we can) but we are concerned that the weather will be too hot at this time for our baby.he will be exactly 1 in july.
has anybody taken a baby to icmeler in july before and if so how did you find it? is it a good idea? thanks i would appreciate any advice.

my granson when he was about one came wth us,we took the 3 wheeler push chair, cool and open, large parasol on,large hat foreign legion style flap down the neck, factor fifty sun block, carried iced orange and water in cool bag all the time ,ice cubes made with bottled water .arm bands rubber ring ,bandero on his head in the pool. covered him with towels in the shade when he slept on the sun bed.plenty of cold water in bucket to play on beach kept his wrists cool, and feet cool.he came home the same colour as when he went.it was constant hard work but he loved it ,he ,s now 8 and been back 3 times ,dominiqcan republic ,florida, but still talks about icmeler. my advice is yes but with care. enjoy bill atkinson

Took our daughter when she was 8 months in june 2006, and again last year in july, the heat didnt bother her at all, we did all that Bill said, as long as you keep them covered in factor 50 plus you can buy swimsuits that proclaim to be factor 50 and above as well as giving them plenty of liquids everything should be fine, hope this helps

When I saw your post "1year old baby.good idea?" I thought you wanted adoption advice

Seriously though take everyone's advice and make sure the little un is well protected and you will be fine. I doubt he/she will have any lasting memories but I'm sure you and the wife will. When we first took our young children it was great the way they were treated and fussed over.

By the way, when in July are you going, we may cross paths.

Cheers
Rog

We are hoping to come back to Icmeler this year as 2008 was the first year we have missed our holiday in paradise due to the arrival of our daughter in April, Cant wait to get over we are thinking early or late so the weather isnt too hot for her as she'll only be 1 in the summer as well. Can't wait to introduce her to all the friends we have made over the last 5 years.

I think little ones of any age adapt very well. As long as we are not traipsing about our 2 are more than happy by the pool or beach. The benefit of by the pool is you can retreat into an air conditioned room :D

The youngest was only about 10 months when we first took him, and as long as you prepare in advance it can be very easy.

I remember though that they did not have the same nappies that we were used to, but we did find something similair at the supermaket on the way into marmaris (on the left).

The trick is to make sure that the baby is shaded whenever possible, we used the all in one swim suit with the waterproof nappies, a hat with neck prtoection, and most of all sun factor 10000... :D

What i most remember was the way in which he was fussed by the turkish people whilst there - truly memorable.
