Could kick myself

Postby elkie » 19 Feb 2009 14:48

Was looking at flights two weeks ago, quite expensive so thought I'd keep my eye on them for a while before booking. Checked last week and they had dropped £100 (for two) but still didn't book. WHY????
Just checked now and they are almost back up to the original price, gutted but my own fault. Plus if they're charging for hold baggage as well the cost will be even higher.

they are just trying to con us into booking with them and thinking they are cheap
from now on, the first thing I'll look for is the REAL price and not the phoney one with no hold luggage included

Totally agree with you now Chris, even though it's a little late. Still can't understand why they would reduce the price for a couple of days though, can you? Never mind, if the prices don't come down we'll just have to pay the higher price and put it down to experience.

What normally happens is if they haven't sold as many seats as expected then they'll lower the prices again until they've sold a reasonable amount of seats. Then they put it back up because they know they've sold the amount of seats they wanted too and they're making a nice amount of money. A lot of it's just meeting a budget these days with airlines.

Unlucky on you though, if it was me I would of got them straight away. It's far too unpredicatable. You never know whether the prices will go up or down but it's usually up nowadays.

Thanks for that JonnyH. So there's still a chance they'll come down again?? At the moment they're coming in at over £600 for 2, that's without the charge for the bags in the hold. Watch this space!!

There's a chance they could but they also could go up. I'd go for them now if I was you, they're likely to go up the sooner it gets to the time.
