I have come to the conclusion that it is unatural to try to slim at this time of the year (Winter).
Nature fattens the animals up in winter so that they can live off thier fat and it also keeps them warm.
Now here are we walking round as slim as pencils complaining about how we are feeling the cold.
One or two off us realised we were in for a rough winter so managed to store a little extra fat thanks to Cadburys.
I think when the butterflies start to fly, will be the time when Gene will have massive fat losses, in the meentime I am keeping warm as nature intended me to be.
I Did Lose a Pound This Week Though

You're dead right Gene! its so hard sticking to diets in these baltic conditions!, thought of a salad makes me shiver! Baked potatoes are all I ever fancy eating! oh and chips, and chinese, and indian, takeaways . I've managed to lose one and a half pounds, but I think thats because I've gone to bed so early each nite to keep warm, hence less snacking time! Bring on some spring weather, I'm sure we'll all find it a bit easier then.
Good luck everyone, xx

I've come to the conclusion we should hibernate....that would stop us eating

Only managed to maintain this week. I would kill for beef stew and home made dumplings.

If you're after comfort foods, remember with slimming world you can have home made casseroles, stews etc just try not to mix your meat and potatoes. You can even have your dumplings if you count them as syns.
Don't get disheartened in this nasty weather, it can still be done with yummy warming foods!

10 Feb 2009 14:38

Well done on your 4lb loss.

thanks mary we are going out tonight my husband said should we go for a meal first god help me i will have to be good just no deserts this is going to kill me
10 Feb 2009 17:19
I know this may sound like an excuse but doesn't it get harder to get the weight off as you get older?
When I was in my 40's I could drop a dress size easily, now as I have matured

it has become much more difficult, it will not budge!
Do any of our older slimmers find this or am I just terrified of getting weighed on Thursday

I am 50 this year and I definitely feel over the last few years while dieting its not shifting as fast as in previous years, but I guess everything slows down, even the weight loss - unfortunately

Just think healthy eating and choose the nicest low fat meal on the menu, or say sod it and have something lovely and fattining.
Enjoy your meal.

Well done on your losses, every little helps.
Last May I bought some new clothes to take and one of my favourites was a red and white dress, (thinking Turkey colours) but when I tried it on around day 4 of the holiday it was too tight. I took it again in Oct last year and still couldnt wear it. I tried it on on last weekend to see how it was...........OMG its too big, fantastic feeling.
