Well done Trish hope I can keep it, up like you I feel much more focused this time, if I keep going hopefully the orphanage will do well. Back to work tonight always struggle at work especially at about 3am.

Lynda, when I am nights, I try to eat my breakfast later, say around Midday and survive on fruit before then. I have a snack for teatime before going to work and take my main meal for around 11pm. Trying to stick to as normal times as possible. If I do get hungry during the night I have things like slimmer cup a soup and a few crackers or fruit. Even an oxo cube makes a nice warm drink for middle of the nights.

I only work 2 nightshifts in a row though, so I would imagine this would be more difficult if you are working a week of nights.

Not up on slimming world but that sounds like a lot of syns.

It is quite a lot of syns, but you are allowed between 5-15 per day. Some days there is so much free food that you dont need to use many, if any syns at all. I would probably use syns like that if I was working nights. You can also use flexible syns, so you can carry them over for certain occassions.

Just been and stocked up on fruit and rice cakes for the next few nights dead exciting stuff. Exercise for the day was running round after Niamh in Tesco's for over an hour, would rather do a half marathon any day, so she has been promoted to my personnel trainer

Well done Lynda and well done to Niamh for giving you the added exercise

My favourite thing for when I am hungry at the moment is sipping the low calorie cup a soup.

Hi All

Slimming isn't rocket science, we all know that we just need to eat less and move more. I've lost 3st 8lbs this year, most of it since June but I've no quick fix to tell you about. I've simply cut down from one bottle of wine a night  to one a week, go to gym 4 times a week (I might even start to like that bit but I doubt it) and cut down on snacking/take aways.

I find that when I join a class I start obsessing about it, doing it on my own seems more of a permanent lifestyle choice than a diet.

Good luck everyone, Icmeler will be like the set of Britains Top Model next year!!

06 Nov 2008 09:16

Well done on your loss bella, what a fantastic achevement.

I know what you mean about a healthy lifestyle, that is what I find with doing SW and WW Core plan, its basically a healthy eating lifestyle and when I used to diet years ago, I tended to be obsessive with what I was eating, or not eating as the case was then. Now I am sticking to healthy and nutritious meals, I have cut out almost completely all fats from my diet, but that is a personal choice because of cholestrol.

As for the exercise, that is what I drastically need to improve on, but after doing 4 x 12 hour shifts, I find it hard to fit it in, but on my 4 days off, I try to do as much exercise as possible, but I will admit to being a lazy so and so sometimes.

Ann maintained this week and puts it down to not being able to get out and do her hours walk everyday due to the bad weather we have been haveing in Chesterfield.
Talk of a excersise bike is in the pipeline for when she cant get on her walks.

sorry they are mug shots and that was the flavours, has any one tried curves gym it its a circuit and no that hard even for none exercisers its a membership but you canget a free week to see if you like it plus sometimes they have free sign up it cost me £29 a month but otherwise i would have the time its a ladies only gym

i dont think slimming is about cutting down its more of the right choices, I had been to my docors he told me to eat less, I simply couldnt so just resigned myself to being 21 stone size 30 .. then i joined sw and got down to 13.5 without eating less at the mo im 15.9 so need to get back into the swing of things

06 Nov 2008 12:56

I have a treadmill at home, so its handy for when the weather is bad and you cant get out and about. The only problem is that its in the little box room where I have no TV or radio etc, so I just make a more determined effort to put something in there for entertainment then I might be inspired to use it a bit more.

Feefee, its a little difficult when you have broken away from the healthy eating plan to get back into it, but you seem to have your motivation back again now, so hopefully with the help and support we all have for each other it will be a more positive effort for each of us.

06 Nov 2008 21:14

Well got through last night ok probably because we were so busy didn't even get my break. If every night is like last night it will be a doddle, only problem came home starving so had a bowl of porridge instead of the usual bacon sandwich.Hope tonight is as easy.
