agree with skilly, just needs a bit of common sense,so icmeler keeps its class.

Please turn the music off at midnight next year!

should the music be turned off at 12 - yes or no

I'm quite happy for the music to carry on till 1am as well - we tend to eat later in the evening, so it would be nice to carry it on a little. My opinion

We rely on the LOUD music being turned off at midnight, otherwise we'd spend our holiday in bed recovering from too many too late nights ha ha

For us, that's what sets Icmeler apart and one of the many reasons we keep going back

Like others have said, there's always Eastenders or Pleasure for those who've still got their dancing feet until the small hours

Its like I said I don't have dancing feet and I don't want to go to Pleasure, I'll probably have to take my MP3 player out with me then I can finish my night listening to chilled music and not disturb anyone
Music doesn't always mean yobbos & drunks, especially good music played quietly.

I agree with you Skilly, I wouldnt want to go to Pleasure or the other nightclub (I forget the name) but I would still like to listen to some quiet music after Midnight, especially in the summer months when the nights are longer and everyone is later going out for their evening meal, which has already been said by jackonews.

Some of the music shouldn't be switched on at all  (well, not to the ridiculous boom boom levels that they seem to think we like) Boom boom is fine in clubs or bars where it doesn't encroach 3 streets away :D
I agree with lots of the previous comments, we all like our music and I also like quiet levels after midnight, but it is the common sense approach that's required. I'll say keep it to 12 purely because sometimes, depending on where you are, 10pm to 12pm is a bit of an endurance test, and a relief when the levels reach normal.
I was in a resturant one night and nearly threw my meal in the air with shock when the music from 2 bars either side pumped up the volume bang on 10pm, it was quite pleasant listening to it before that. It's not what they play it's the way that they play it

i agree 12 o clock is the best time for the music to go off like others have said its nice to have another drink and chat with waiters and then wend you way back to your apartment or hotel

have to agree 100% with you,.......its not the music as such that i object too, its when they crank it so loud, the walls vibrate almost......

thats why we found sept much nicer, although there was music, it wasnt deafening

Hi guys, new to this forum and its exceptional!!
Regarding the music, other place I have visited have double glazed glass doors which are simply closed around midnight and keep the music indoors for those who cant live without it! Are there any bars in Icmeler which have this ??

01 Nov 2008 12:57

We make sure we stay in the quieter parts of Icmeler so the noise does not affect the kids

But the bars are starting to move more into the quieter areas of Icmeler.

I don't have objections to low level background music but we all know what will happen, this will slowly creep up in volume. If the time does change to 1am the next discussion will be to move the music back to 2am.

It will be my first time in Icmeler next June so I'll have a better understanding then, but my initial feeling is that 12 does seem a bit early for all the music to go off. Whether thats to do with my age or not I don't know! Having been to many resorts in Greece where the doors are shut at midnight and the music only played inside the bars is this not an option for Icmeler?

Hi steve-mcr
Most bars are open air with canopy rather than solid roof so sound travels farther, hence the 12 o clock curfew, unless you go to the two clubs which are fully enclosed and open till 4am approx. Hope this helps.

ım gonna open pensıoner bar next summer we open at 8 close at 10pm and soft musıc

01 Nov 2008 17:14

Quite agree with the 12 o clock rule, softer music after that is fine but we wrinklies have had enough boom boom boom by 12. No need to go to bed but loud music is not necessary, after all some of us like to talk to friends and family for a little while each day!! As for common sense, does this exist, especially where having a good time and booze are concerned? We spent 8 years at the Private Hotel by the canel but last year we moved further away from there just because we couldn't hear ourselves think and we do like to have a drink or two on the balcony before we finally retire.

Your bar will be packed every night :D

All music going off at 12 midnight does put us off going back to Icmeler if the music was allowed in the background it would make a big difference walking thru the town at 12.15am it is like a ghost town most apartments in other places we have stayed in if the windows and doors are shut you can't hear any music,we went to Majorca one year when they had just brought in this rule and all the bars closed at midnight as it was not financially viable to stay open needless to say we never returned.

I think they should get the loud music turned off at 12.00 but allow gentle/background music until 2am - it's nice to have gentle music playing while you're enjoying a drink in a relaxed atmosphere.

Marmaris is close enough for those that want to party on until the small hours - so I don't see the need to have the music blaring all night in Icmeler.

Whichever way you look at it, the music going off at 12am is one of the many things which makes people return, especially the older generation (the generation the Turks often refer to as their "quality customers"). There's nothing worse than trying to get to sleep at 2am with blaring music outside your hotel/apart... and I'm a long way off pension age and rarely get to bed before 4am when in Icmeler!

So - keep it as it is or allow gentle background music until 2am....
