entertainment

hi all now that the season is comming to an end. What was everyone's favourite entertainment wether it be a waiter doing his own thing to a show.

24 Oct 2008 11:45

I dont know if I will be a minority of 1 here but the entertainment is very very poor and repitive. Dancing waiters are fine for the first few days, but then....., especially if you have been to Icmeler several times. Dont get me wrong these guys are fabulous, the effort they put in each night for about 6 months, good on them, its just not for me. Having said that there must be many who enjoy this as Venice, Friends Korsan seemed to be doing a roaring trade most nights.

As for Michael Jackson, Tina Turner etc again not for me. personally i am happy to sit in a bar with background music and talk with fellow holidaymakers. Either that or some live music, eg Bamboo

Still each to their own

Stewart I agree 100% and have already posted to this effect. I am certain that there are many who never return to Icmeler because of this.

Our highlights were the Stella show for the first time and the mad, mental thunderstorm on the night of 25th September, that was truly amazing walking through water 6 inches deep and not being able to see the swimming pool at the apartments.

Being weetoonies, we find it quite easy to make our own entertainment.

I have been going 4 years now and like you all have seen the entertainment a few times but i'm different from you and i don't get bored of it.Certain 1 i do...i hate that Cha,Cha Slide song :x drives me crazy!!

But like you say each to your own...

24 Oct 2008 22:48

I still enjoy watching the Waiters dancing, but like Becki says, I am bored of Cha cha slide, kiss kiss etc.

The Tina Turner pic I took and posted from June with the sweaty armpits, has put me right of Tina Turner

Love the break dancers, little Michael Jackson and the dancers at the Venice and Majestic are very good.

Belly dancers can be expensive

Never seen the Robot man yet :(

Best restaurant entertainment I seen this October has to be Wonderboys. The lad doing the Elvis and Freddie Mercury was very professional.

I love watching the breakdancers!! :D
The belly dancing show now i think is more of a guy thing...before it used to be a family thing they would get anyone up now it just always seems to be the men!

The best entertainment for me and also for our friends is actually our own and others company.

How can it get better than being in the company of your good friends and family (Turkish and Kurdish included) and being in a place so beautiful as Icmeler and laughing at and with each other.

Gene and Ann were missed this year

After visiting Icmeler for 4 years I can relate to those who say that the entertainment is getting a little stale and repetitive. Having said that our first visit to Icmeler was a breath of fresh air to the normal popular Med resorts we were used to. After having a superb meal, waited on hand and foot and, entertained whilst still sat at our table was what holidaying and relaxing was all about. This year we still saw the same old acts in the regular haunts, but, we did have a good wander around the resort and found a whole lot more entertainment which was different to the run of the mill entertainment normally found. What ever holiday resort you go to you'll find the same sort of stuff, but... and having seen it in other resorts and how much dearer it is, I know where I'd rather be to watch it,.. although something new would be good for next year.

really dont mind any of it.....although refuse now to tip the belly dancer etc.....that has worn thin.....

this will be out 4th time in 2009, and it still all makes me smile.....

Hi Karen
Rather than tip the bellydancer, might I respectfully suggest you join them

The tip is usualy a bank note stuffed somewhere on her person
When we had the old currancy it was just a couple of bob!!. but the smallest banknote is now 5ytl, two quid!!

If she gets average 8 tips =40ytl per dance, 6 dances a night,
6 times 40ytl = 240ytl,----£90-£100 per night.
Six nights a week,--

£550/£600 per week. Minimum :o

Bloody hell!! Im going to have a go myself

Ok, the diet starts and all I need to do now is look for belly dancing lessons

Peli I thought that you were an Icmeler expert

The smallest bank note is the 1 YTL and they are still going strong

Well, I'm working on the principle that a bigger belly means more room for more tips, so in that case, I'd be laughing!

25 Oct 2008 15:04

Good thinking - just the lessons, I will keep the belly

25 Oct 2008 15:08

I don't enjoy the entertainment, usually go see stella once while we are there but even that is getting boreing. Thats why we go to Marmaris about 3 nights a week to see Bella. But could not stay in Marmaris as Icmeler is so beautiful.

I understand the notes are all changing again in the new year, not sure if there will be anything smaller than a 5 lira note...... could try putting coins in the belly dancer's apparel and listen to her jingle
