The two brothers, Hakam and Levant, who owned the Old Famous Kitchen couldn't make a success of it. They had what most people thought was a very good restaurant but decided to make it a karioki bar but that was a disaster. They are now hustling for someone else. Sad. I did find something that may help when speaking to them and that was that everything in the place was rented down to the knives and forks. There's no capital outlay that way.
The is a capital outlay and that is usually at least the first years rent which is usually £30,000 and in Turkey you also as far as I know from other deals pay the last years rent for the people leaving so £60,000 up front to have it your self and that is why a lot of women/men give the boyfriends/friends £30,000 and that is just so that the boyfriend/friend can have a share of the place
If I was to open one, it would be a Drag Showbar on the canal as it's a prime location. I would charge a small door charge maybe 3 or 4 lira, in return for that I would probably have a drag duo on. I would also run raffles of some sort during the interval of the show. I would also have blinds on the outside that would be closed during the show to stop people enjoying a free show.
I would do a proper Irish bar with live irish music and the crac would also serve some traditional irish food and the best pint of guiness in Icmeler Quiz night once a week with prizes Open mic night were people could get up and sing with the live band
what do you all think
