Holiday truths

Am I detecting a wee bit of rivalry between Holiday truths and this forum ?
In one topic where someone is asking for info on places to stay in Icmeler, someone suggested this forum for further info.
The admins retort was, "Why not check out All the Turkey Apartment and Hotel Reviews we recieve everyday here on Holiday Truths just follow that link and you don't even have to leave our site."
In another thread about ICR transfers the thread was locked with the comment, "Once again, I am not allowing this forum to be used as an arena for your battles.

Topic locked.

If a new topic is started I will have no hesitation in banning the author.

End of."

I saw no "battles" in the thread, just people, including our own Peli and Colette, trying to get some info on cheap car hire.

It would be a shame if there is to be a falling out between the two forums as they have managed to live side by side for so long and lots of members post regularly on both boards.

I felt I was being pillered on there!, for what I thought was genuine questions to shall we say,
A very "strange" statement in regard to carhire/transfer or whatever??
I have pm, HT admin, in regard to this matter and due to it being PM will respect all privecy in regard to their reply when it appears.

There is a certain poster on HT who does not like ICR and everytime,someone puts a link or mention ICR its like a red rag to a bull.
Some of the recent threads have just become a slanging match and that is why the threads are locked.

I think that the mod was just letting people know that they have their own review site and didnt have to leave it to go to another one. I dont think it was any thing personal

If there was a problem between the two sites I dont think ICR would still have a link to it on here.

No probs Peli. I have moderated (and still do) on internet forums for years and I have always taken the view that, by it's very nature, a forum is a place for people to air their views, regardless of whether or not other posters, or indeed the admin of the forums agreed with those views.
If everyone agreed with each other all of the time, then forums would be very boring places.
Of course there will always be the odd poster who goes well OTT and in those cases it is the site admins job to take action, but recently I have detected, and not just on HT but in other forums spread over a wide range of subjects, a certain over zealousness by the mods.
It's a shame really because folk who post, what is in their opinion, a relevant topic, only to have it locked for no good reason, will think twice about posting there again, which in the long run, is detrimental to the forum concerned

Sorry guys have been out all afternoon, There is no trouble between ourselves and HT, the thread did go off topic so I guess it got locked for that.

Oh well cest le vie as they say.

I would just like to point out HT is a really good forum for just about everything holiday related and we are pleased to promote them.



Going to have to lock this as I don't want it to turn into a "moan" thread
