Our last holiday to Icmeler

they had been sick, what kind of people are they im not posh or a snob but when you save all year you dont want to spend precouis holiday time in the company of people who ruin your holiday why dont they stick to maguluff or lloret de mar not our icmeler

Unfortuanately a giro doesn't stretch to a week in spain anymore. So these people have to go and find somewhere else slightly cheaper and also to ruin like every other resort that has the misfortune to have these kind of people.

here's hoping there are enough decent ones of us to make it so they don't spoil our fun - or that they go somewhere livelier than Icmeler

One of the many things we love about Icmeler is that you DONT get crowds of hooligan type drunks - just folk enjoying themselves without spoiling it for everyone else

I've always said Icmeler attracts a nicer crowd of people. Better than I have found in most places. We allways come home and we've made new friends, that we stay in touch with. Lets hope that doesn't change. Saying that I don't think the Police would stand for rowdy crowds on the street.

we have never, ever seen anyone the worse for drink on the streets of Icmeler, in the years we have been going. Ok yes, a few very happy people, but never anyone showing themselves up or causing trouble. One of the reasons we love it there.

I am sure the thought of being locked up and spending time in a Turkish prison for being drunk and causing a nuisance must deter most people,shame it doesn't have the same affect here in the UK

Another idea for Rami to put to the council. As the increased noise from bars seams to be peoples main gripe. I am not sure if this is already being done at the moment but the Police should be going round with a desibel reader and haveing a set limit at how loud bars can play music and if this is already being done then maybe the limit should be reduced and enforced more tightly.

In the uk all night clubs and bars that play music have a decibel metre installed and each council sets the noise limit. If a bar or club plays the music to loud weather live music or cd's then the metre cuts off the power once the nosie level is reached. It might be an idea to have them installed in Icmeler

Well where do i start,we have been going to icemelr for 6 years now,and yes i do agree with what you are al;l saying,however you dont have to sit and wath the crap entertainment or even eat in icemeler,try hireing a jeep and get to see some of the other beautifull hastle free places in the area.And i think we all agree icemeler is a beautifull place if you get to much hassle just put them in a arm lock and throw them in the canal.i know i will lol. we are looking fwd to our trip in august 18th

That's kind of where I got my Idea from steve. I used to work in the Entertainment industry so I know when I gave it up they were starting to bring similar kinds of measures in. It's a good idea. the noise doesn't really bother me in Icmeler we always stay in the old village. Just thought I'd suggest idea for people who find icmeler becoming louder.

The one thing that has always puzzled me about the all singing, all dancing waiters is WHERE DO THEY GET THE ENERGY from?.Over the last few years the summer temperature has gone up and up, but these lads never seem to faulter, I wish I had half their energy.

Just thought I would add a few comments:
after staying in Icmeler for 1 month in May the entertainment did become a little boring, however having been on holiday to many destinations in the world where there is absolutely nothing to do in the evening, we found it a pleasant change to have something to look at or listen to. It is interesting that at midnight everyone basically leaves (cinderella syndrome) and for those of you that are looking for a quiet drink why do you not stay later. It is also interesting that people return to the same bars night after night and in fact reserve tables. Maybe those who complain about the entertainment should try other parts of the world to fully appreciate what is on offer. By the way it is possible to move from bar to bar to find something that suits you.
Also think about resorts that only offer Karoke bars and the same people and there every night singing the same songs badly.
On a final note we are returning in October for 2 weeks and it is because it is one of the few places that you actually get to know people and make friends. Please remember all of those places you have been were no-one has spoken to you at all and you end up bored with each others company.

I think you might have possably misunderstood a lot of the coments on entertainment if you notice most of the comments are from very regular visitors who have probably seen it all countless times but do fully appreciate what these fantastic hard working guys do for us and who over the years we have become very friendly with and I can say this echoes itself through countless topics on this forum
in regard to moving about most of us have "locals" so to speak and any how the acts roam from one bar to another Also when you look closely at the comments a lot of it was, tong in cheek! My pesonal thoughts which Ive touched on previus is some new ideas are needed
I do respect and agree with what you say in regard to other places becouse what we have in Icmeler is quite rare in regard to the "cinderella syndrome" there are any number of reasons why people leave ,go to later drinking holes, children, to get up early, etc
Either way we have something special which you touched on the friendliness

I have read most of the comments on this topic and can understand why people get fed up with the same old entertainment, but I have only been once and absolutley loved it, and we are returning again in September, think it will take lots more trips for me to get bored thats if I ever will, where else do you find such a place that has great weather, lovely people, good looking lads, cheap food and drink with such a welcome that makes you feel fantastic, I think its GREAT!!!!, bring on September thats all I can say, yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee xx.

We decided to go to Lanzarote this year the holiday was good but prices were so much higher and the 2nd week of the holiday I started reminising about Icmeler and now back we are looking for a cheap week to Icmeler to see all the usual faces as we have missed them

Steve, couldn't agree with you more the Kurt apartments were a class apart very peaceful and hassle free. I might well be booking for next June, also the nicest apartments I've stayed in.

Well, I posted comments saying that next years we would be having a change, its now 2 years since we visited Icmeler heading off to Hisaronu, we are just back and - guess what - we have booked to go back to Hisaronu again. I take back everything I said and have found Hisaronu just as addictive as Icmeler was. Three things and beats Icmeler for us is 1. Absolutely no hassle whatsover. 2. The guys are just as friendly, but not as touchy feely which suits my youngest daughter who hates any attention. 2. Olu Deniz Beach, along shingle is absolutely breathtaking.

Although prices have gone up a little - Turkey is still excellent value for money and the weather is fab.

Every year we paw through the holiday brochures saying we are gong to try somewhere else. i would love to go to dominion republic but the lure of icmeler always brings us back.

I wasted 2 weeks in Tunisia once.....what a dump
