The strength of spirits

Postby smc4761 » 27 Jul 2008 15:09

No not ghosts etc, vodka gin etc, Smirnoff vodka, Gordons gin etc is around 37.5% proof in the UK and sometimes even stronger abroad. Is the strength of the local vodka gin etc less than 37.5%

No you will find most spirits will be 40% proof unless you drink Raki and that could be as much as 70% proof hope this helps.

Mine to I like it with cherry juice. We have a couple of bottles left, and when we can find the Dines cherry juice in the supermarkets over here we get the Raki out. You can get the same brand of cherry juice as over there in Asda sometimes.

We only started drinking it when a couple of british women we met that were working over there said that's how they have it.

Im on nights, the thought of a Raki and cherry juice is very very appealing right now.

I dont know what the strength of the local vodka is in Turkey, but I dont find it as strong as Smirnoff, but no way would I pay over the top prices for a dash of Smirnoff in Turkey.

If I had some cherry juice I'd have some myself. Asda hasn't had the Turkish cherry juice in for ages.

I'm on the wine at the mo.

Never thought to try anything else with Cherry Juice, only Raki.
We have a lidl near us, might go and get some cherry juice from there tomorrow, and I suppose I will have to buy some vodka too, as I have no raki.
