Busy?

Postby icmeler2998 » 05 Jul 2008 17:56

Is it busy in Icmeler at the moment? Ive heard from people thats theres hardly anybody there, and people are just staying in their all inclusive hotels. Bars are saying £10 for all drinks, all night?!?

No its not busy we got back early yesterday morning. The guys in the bars and restaurants were saying that because of the hotels now offering All Inclusive it is killing their business.

But the atmosphere throughout Icmeler was still as wonderful as always :D can't wait to go back in September.

having visited Icmeler 20odd times over the last 9years I can see a differance yes there are less people there but in my opinion the two big problems are too many bars doing the identical thing night after night year after year with very little vareation please dont take this the wrong way I love all the guys in all the bars but if one does it everyone else does it BUT i have to agree all inclusive is the main problem but the tourist seem to want it so it catch 22 no money over bar counters =less entertainment and the resort implodes on itself
sorry if it sounds morbid couse i love the place and i guarantee you will have a good time

My friends are over there at the minute and have said it's quiet over there.

I agree about the same shows, I don't watch them anymore, we head for a non entertainment bar or somewhere like the (old) Bamboo bar where there are no shows, they get boring after a while.

Kids holidays are soon, I am sure it will liven up

We haven't seen the Mr Jackson shows yet it was our first time last year to Icmeler and as the kids are only little we are looking forward to seeing all the impersonators this year because they were only 2 and 5 last time. Just goes to show we all want something different from our hard earned holidays :D

The season has hardly begun (in real terms)

There are economic problems here at home and many people are not going away this year, however I have heard from so many people that they are going to try Turkey this year because the Euro's strength has made European destinations very expensive

Don't worry Peli it's ok

Thats what I like in Icmeler though, there are the bars with the entertainment and the bars without.

Everyone has made good strong point though as to why it is quiet, but then I am not there yet

One of the main problems is the cost of the flights to get there they have on avarage gone up 40% last year we paid £984 for 4 of us this year we are looking at £1350 although the cost of accomodation has stayed the same.

Like most of us we have Turkish friends who are all saying it is very quiet over there and are hopping that things will improve in the next month.

I think we all wish them luck and do hope things pick up as it would be sad to see some of our best loved bars and restrurants closing through lack of custom Icmeler would not be the same
