Lost in Icmeler

Postby skilly » 16 Jun 2008 20:29

I was just wondering if anyone has ever got lost in Icmeler?
We were staying in the Babadan Hotel and had already been to Icmeler a couple of times but had not stayed in that area before.

We arrived about 4pm and while I was unpacking my husband decided to go for a little walk around and to get some water.
He was gone about 2 hours and I was getting worried, when he finally arrived back he was sweating cobs as we say around here

He said everywhere he went he seemed to get more and more lost and had really started panicking. I don't think there is a nicer place to be lost in.
Lost in Paradise :D

When we first went to Icmeler we stayed in the old village,we were a bit worried about getting lost so i said why dont we just look out for the flag on top of the mountain,so out we went, had a good night out headed back to the apartments and realised it was dark and couldnt see the bloomin flag! took us ages to find our way back

You've just reminded me Rosie, last year we were lost again.
We were staying at Pinewood and after a few beers we set off 'home'.
We called at 'Gunay' bar and our friend Okan had to draw us a map or we would have been sleeping on a bench :)

we stay near the Pinewood and our friend's mum was determined to miss all the hasslers outside the restaurants on our way out to eat

what a scream, it was getting steadily darker as we followed her on a grand tour of the old village (we were heading for the prom ha ha)
every time she saw a bar, she headed away from it

needless to say after about an hour we ended up near what's now the Elvis bar, but her short cut after there took us past the Baron - 'nuf said

we can now offer guided tours of every road in the old village

haha.
i think its because they have so many side streets that all look the same!
i wanted to cry, it was geting later and later and that was without having a drink aswel! we hadnt eaten and wanted to eat somewhere different because we was eating in deja vu everynight, but then by the time we got lost and that then we found deja vu so ended up eating there again!

I don't know how we didn't get lost in Icmeler one night, we were staying up the road opposite the canel and we ended up at sugars and didn't leave there until 2 am how we managed to get back i don't know. Steve reckons he's got a good sence of direction i reckon it was just luck myself.

Haven't been there for 2 years got to try and find my way to Sugars this time, think i'll have a look in the day when we get there and find my waqy about as i wont have Steve with me and i don't think my friend caroline is very good at directions but i could be wrong.

might be here when i get back telling of my story of being lost.
