My mum saw photos from someone at work and HAD to go! It was 1995 and I was 12 - I am now married, with a baby and living in icmeler full time - I wonder if she would still want to go if she knew how things would turn out!!

Same story for us, martin my hubby saw it in hols brochure and liked the look of the town.. that was 1992. we meet a family there on our first visit staying at the Alvaro the same as us and we have become great friends... my family have been back every year since some times twice a year and this year will be going over 3 times... It is such a fab place, great weather, good food, fantastic people what more can you ask!!!
And to make things even better our daughter has a Turkish boyfriend who works in Icmeler so more excuses to visit

1993 by accident. Went into the travel agents and asked what the best deal was leaving the following Friday. Best holiday I've ever had. Don't go every year as I like to see other places but I like to go back every couple of years and I'm always amazed at the changes. Must add it's the only place I've ever been back to.

Most of my family are in Australia and trying to get me to move there next year...........wonder how much Sharon can get me a return flight from Adelaide and how long it would take me to get there

My mum treated me to a last minute holiday back in 2002, didn't really fancy going to turkey, but after the first night fell in love with the place. We stayed in icmeler for a week and when we got home we booked to go again 4 weeks later!! Did try Hisaronu one year but was not impressed, so booked again for icmeler. This will be my 11th time this year and can't wait

We decide one year we would give Turkey a go for our holidays.Didn't know were we were going, anyone we talk to tried to put us off so we just stuck a pin in a list off places and Icmeler was the one that we picked. That was in June 2000 and we have been every year since.Going twice this year.

First went in 04 with my best friend and her family.Wasn't meant to be going but got asked to go few weeks before because another friend dropped out.
Had a great holiday and met some fab people!!Been going every year since. Was meant to be there for the summer this year but didn't work out so came home in March after spending nearly 6 weeks in Marmaris. So will be 4 trips this year total of 10 weeks!!
Love the place and can't imagine going anywhere else yet and i'm only 19!People say why don't you go somewhere else, but why go somewhere you don't know if your going to like and waste your money??

By very happy accident. I had been off work with a nasty sinus infection and once I started to feel better I began surfing the Net looking for a holiday for the summer time. For the type of accommodation we wanted as well as the amenities in the holiday resort the prices were absolutely ridiculous - apart from holidays coming up in Turkey. I got talking to my friend who was also looking for a summer holiday and I told her that the best prices were for holidays flying into Dalaman. Her hubby had also been looking and had pointed out a couple of apartments in Icmeler that he liked the sound of (and also the price) - the one in first place being the Club Aquarium. So we got together and 'Googled' Icmeler and found this site. The rest as they say is history. So thanks to all the people on this site who helped me to make the decision to go ahead and book up for last year. We loved it and are returning 'home' 2 months today. (Not that I'm counting  )

I have been to quite a few places in Turkey, been going on and off since 1993, anyway had just got back from Alanya couple of years ago and was on the web looking to book the following years holiday, 2 cracking deals came up, 1 was Marmaris the other Icmeler(both parts i hadn't been to before), phoned my Mum as she had been to both and she said she thought we would like Icmeler so booked it and went and had a ball!

We had been to Greece for a few years (really cheap holidays), but thought that we should look into somewhere else and thought should try Spain, however the prices were ridiculous for what we paid for 2 to Greece that was price for 1 in May, so found a turkey brochure with 3 weeks for price of 2, and thought what the heck cheaper than 2wks to Spain and had the best 3 weeks ever. So went to Fumbet in the October not as good. So didn't go back for a few years, tried other places but knew that we wanted to go back to Icmeler couldn't quite remember why, so we went back 2 years ago and now don't want to go anywhere else now remember why we wanted to go back all them years ago, we were home :D

Have now got a few others into my way of thinking Icmeler is the best holiday destination.

we first went in 1998 just picked it out of the brochure, it was really quiet then, there was no bars and restaurants on the Marbas road and on the back road it was just turkish houses, we fell in love with it then and said when we had some money we would go back and stay in the aqua 5 star on the beach, when we went back in 2003 we were surprised that all the turkish houses had gone but still fell in llove with the place and been every year since

After 9 years of driving to spain taking the kids and sometimes the kids friends aswell we decided it was about time we tried something different but what :? A friend of mine sugested icmeler which she and her hubby have gone to for the last 5 years I mentioned this to hubby but his 1st reaction was mmmmm im not sure!!!!! After more persuation from my friend and joing the forum here last year which answered all my concerns and allowed me to share all your experiences :D i took the plunge and booked  hubby was still unsure untill we arrived.
He loved everything about icmeler, we are both now head over heels in love with icmeler and carnt wait to go back in august. :D :D

Went to Northern Cyprus on friends recommendation and loved it.Very quiet though...bit too quiet for us.Met lots of lovely people who all recommended various parts of Turkey.Came home and spoke to my Aunty who had gone to Turkey for years and she recommended Icmeler. She went every year from 1980 to late 90's and said the people never forgot them.I try to go once a year and somewhere else as well. This year going to Bitez, thats a first for us.Only place we really didnt like and was totally extortionate price wise was Antalya.Ripped off everywhere we went. The hotel we stayed in sold Carlsberg..no Effes and three years ago they wanted almost £3 for a small one.Everywhere else we've been has been fine.Something special about Icmeler though
