Wellcome to the forum gez45.
I have also flown with Onur a couple of times and although basic (no inflight entertainment) I found them on time and had no problems with them.

Hi gez45

Welcome to the forum.

We went with Onur for the first time last year. Flights were on time, meals were okay, no entertainment - definitely no smiles from the cabin crew but hey... just wanted to get to Dalaman and back safely!!! :)

i don't really like onur air, im always very scared getting on it after a previous flight, it always seems to have alot of turbulence and the plane starts shaking like mad but every other airline is fine first choice, thompson etc. but yeah they do the job, they get you there safe, though after everything i always seem to choose onur air going to turkey.

I don't have a problem flying with them again this year. Last time they left on time both ways and felt we had a bit more leg room than other airlines, meal wasn't up to much but then i don't think any of them are. Staff were pleasant enough and we got free soft drinks too.

Welcome to the forum.

I flew with Onur Air 3 times last year and I found the staff pleasant. The meals were not great, but that wont be a problem now as they are not free any more. I had 1 hour delay on 2 of the flights.

Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

We're with them this year, flights have changed about 3 times, so have given up wondering what time till we get the tickets.

We were lucky and thanks to other hol makers spotting when the cheap flights came out we only paid £96 each and £150 for the 6th person in our group. Last year flights were £315 each, and that was booking in Feb, with First Choice, big difference.

So I wont be able to moan about anything for that price. But when you look now, its £400 ish from Mcr with them in August, which I seriously wouldnt pay taking into account the no frills.

Have flown with them 3 times, never had a problem, flying with them on Friday, no meals this year, but I don't mind that. Basic, safe and pleasant cabin crew, I sleep or chat depending on the flight time, and don't have little children to keep entertained, so in flight entertainment isn't a problem for me, might have been when children were little because it is quite a long time for children. But total value for money for me and husband.

Onur Air are ok. Regardless of a previous post where they "suffered more turbulence" than with other airlines is a load of rubbish. They all fly through the same air.

We flew with Onur Air in 2006. the staff were awful but did their job, but when the plane landed in Dalaman the whole plane starting shaking and rattling. I honestly thought the brakes werent working and the plane was going to disintegrate! It was awful. Ive never had that on any other airline. But, obviously, it didnt break up and we had another fantastic holiday! The flying is only 8 hours out of the entire holiday though so its worth it.

Always on look out for cheap flights to Dalaman from Manchester.

How do you go about booking Onur? Any other cheap airlines you can recommend?

Thanks

Do you have to phone and reconfirm your return flight from Dalaman? We had to do this with Thomsons a couple of years back on a flight only.

Hi Bev

They've told me to expect tickets 2/3 weeks before departure
our flight times changed and then changed back, so fingers crossed yours will too

Just noticed also that our flights are now over £600 each for Aug - not bad when you think we only paid £225 each when we booked last Aug yey

I think that tends to be the recommendation for all flights back to UK regardless of airline Chris - we usually get the hotel to do it for us

Aegean Flights recommend that you confirm your flight time details 48 hours before your departure date.
To do this call the following numbers.

Dalaman Departures...............0090 252 411 1129
Bodrum Departures.................0090 252 316 9351

Or call them in the UK on..........0844 870 0033

Ringing in is very simple and the girl at the other end of the phone was English.
