I end up at the medical centre if I get bitten. I react badly with 1 bite on my ankle making my leg swell right up to my knee and it's painful to walk. I had "Mozzie Milk" roll-on recommended 3 years ago and haven't been bitten since. Boots used to sell it but don't any more. I have got it off the internet since. You don't need to plaster it all over. You just roll stripes on your legs and arms etc. I also use a plug-in in the room and use Avon Woodland Fresh as a moisturiser (that's the green one). Trying to get the blighters from all angles!!!!!!

We have always used Walkabout Insect Repellent its Australian and made from natural oils. You can get it from herbalists. Makes you smell like a lemon but it has always worked for us, that said we usually go to Greece. This will be our first time with Turkish mozzies will let you know how we fare.

Serious question about mosquito's

Just an update - the Avon green bottle of dry oil spray used to be Woodland Fresh, but is now Soft and Fresh - it still repels them just the same.

Hi!I have had bad reactions to mossie bites in the past.Last year someone suggested taking the one a day antihistamines for a week before we went away and carrying on all the time we were there.I think we'll do it this year as well.I had a seriously bad reaction and went to the pharmacy by tansas and the lady there gave me antihistamine cream and antiseptic to mix together and rub on.It worked very well.As for the avon skin so soft....I heard it was discovered as an invaluable mossie repellant by soldiers in vietnam.Whoever it was who admitted using it and told his mates it stopped the mossies must have got some stick!I did post much the same as this on saturday..seemed ok but vanished now...must have been the site work. :)I just read this back and it sounds like I had a bad reaction even after taking the one a days...NO was fine, was a couple of years ago I had the bad reaction!
