Hi

You will love it and like many of us get the bug. If you look on the forum you will see that some people have put down the cost of drinks and food. I went last year beginning of June and the weather was hot so plenty of suncream. Everybody is really friendly. Where are you staying. Just enjoy yourselves, Mums deserve to.

We are looking forward to it and the last time I was in Turkey was about 15yrs ago with hubby(Bodrum) and my only concern is the safety part and the 2 women on their own kind of thing. Thanks for your comments any would be great :)

Hi Trixie,

welcome to the forum. :)

You have no need to worry about being 2 women on your own, you will not be treated any differently than a woman with a partner.

You will fall in love with Icmeler, me and OH are going back next Friday.

It is a lot nicer than Bodrum, this will be our 12th time in Turkey. We went to Bodrum 2 years ago, and if it had been our 1st time I would never have gone to Turkey again.

Have a great holiday 8)

Thanks Polly...really reassuring...when I went to Bodrum it was very quiet but supposedly now it is really popular with 18-30 which is my idea of hell!!! We just want to sit at pool have nice meal and some entertainment at night....may partake in a small beverage or 2..lol

You will love it. I was really jubious about going first time, went because my partner wanted to, and I absolutely loved it. It's a really nicee laid back resort but with plenty to do.

Don't worry about just being 2 women on your own. I have a friend I met over there and she is in her 50's and she goes by herself sometimes, she never has any trouble, and I think the Turkish people would be the first to help you if you were ever in any sort of trouble.

Some of the waiters even walk her back to her apartment at night if she's the last one out. But that's just them being nice, there really is nocause for concern and the police are allways on patrol.

Hi Trixie,
I went with my mum and a friend, 3 women alone to Icmeler 4 years ago and have been back every year since :D I feel so safe there, It's a great resort, very compact so, anywhere you go, you're never too far from your hotel. Everybody is so friendly, you will love it. Enjoy :D

Icmeler is very compact with beautiful scenery and some wonderful restaurants.

We usually take about 200 lira with us and the rest in sterling which we keep in our safety deposit boxes then our Nationwide card incase we over-spend. (Regular occurence!)

Well done you on winning your holiday. Welcome to the forum and I hope you have a great time there. I am sure you will both enjoy yourselves and then you will be going straight home to book again.

Dont worry about your safety, you will be fine. Nicest people ever.

Hi Trixie I have 2 children aged 3 and 6, we went to Icmeler for the first time last year and I would have wandered about without my Hubby with no worries. As my Hubby doesn't like flying we often jest that i will take the kids on my own but in reality I would and not be frightened. Our hotel was full of mums on their own with children and all did exactly what they wanted. I don't even go to our local shop at night which is a few hundred yards away and we live in a tiny rural village! We were up til all hours :D

Hi Trixie

I went to icmeler in 2005 with my other half and am goiong back this year for a week on a girly holiday with my friend.

I would have never have done this and gone with out the OH if i thought that it wasn't safe.

Icmeler is lovely you will love it and want to go back again.

I would have gone back before now but the kids picked the last 2. ithink we better take them to Icmeler and i'm sure they will want to start going there. where spoiled the first time as we went on our own.

I've often wandered around Icmeler on my own at night, if hubby has been watching a footie match. Never felt safer..... I certainly would not do this in my home town!
