Is this true please?

Postby Jemini » 29 Apr 2008 08:15

Hi Icmelarians. When we have been in Icmeler we usually see and old lady carrying sticks on her back and heading towards the old village. We have also seen her feeding the horse in the dried up canal. Last year we were sitting in a bar and hubby and i felt so sorry for her we were going to hand her a £10 note to help her out. The bar man said not to because she apparently had a nasty temper and was already loaded!!!!! Anyone know if this is true? Happy hols Jem xxxxxxxxxx

Yes Yes and Yes:)

Old Lady, bad temper and very loaded.

The empty land next to Iguana belongs to her (worth about $4Mil.) and thats not all. She wants to live her life as a villager.. what ever you do, do not try to give her money please.

I have known this lady for years.
She is very strong willed and still works the land at the side of the Iguana aparts.
When we were in Icmeler in March she was chopping the grass down for fodder and clear the land ready to bring her horse on.
I have known her rant and rave to herselfe but have said merhaba to her on several ocasions.
She wants to live her life as she always has.

Yes I also felt sorry for her, did'nt know about the temper.

My daughter used to give the horse apples when we stayed at the Iguana Apartments.

I also heard she is loaded.

I've seen her a few times, allways thought she was a tramp.

I rememeber one day I was getting the Dolmus to Marmaris, and this Policeman put a load of beggers on the bus and sending them back to Marmaris he was giving them a right telling off by sounds of it.

in september 2006 we were at the captain silver apartments and during the afternoon we could here rusling in the trees/bushes round the perimeter.we could not see anything and about half hour latter this big bunch of branches walked out of the edge and across the car park.she was so loaded up with branches way up,and you could only see her ankles ,she was stooped over so it looked like a half ball with little ankles,it looked so funny and gave us all a chuckle.
didnt know she was loaded though, good luck to the lady in retaining her identity when all around her has changed.

Just goes to show, appearances are often misleading  it could really offend someone like that. Best to smile and go on your way.

I have also seen this lady and have admired how hard she works deppite her age.
I try not to stare at her because I think this is rude (although she must be used to it by now)
Someone also told us not to take any pics of the lady, which I wouldn't have done anyway.
I wonder what she thinks about us
